It is cause youtube has a length limit and most of the battles people bother to post are lengthy NM battles. Sorry mate, but if you haven't played XI in more than 2 years, you really shouldn't make comparasons to it. Nin/dnc now hit so fast you can barely see them. Hell even my clunky bst hits fast.

That video is sped up. The music is faster, the attack sounds are faster and slightly higher pitched, the animations are faster...

Not a good example.

And anyway, we don't know all of what gear those players are using (least I can't make it all out, vid's kinda dark). At the least, both characters are wearing a Walahra Turban which by itself gives 5% haste.

Stamina was a horrible system. It resulted in too much micro management and prevented effective party communication. Good riddance. The battle system feels so much more fluid now and my index finger isn't cramping up from extreme button press repetition.

Why did they put this in again? The majority of the community really wanted this? I am curious not trying to spur anything I am really asking because I am confused. I thought the fighting was awesome and it made it a faster pace now it's just slow. (I Played FFXI for 5 years)

To me the current speed of AA is about the same as when it was with the stamina system. They do have plans of increasing the battle speed in future patches though.
