Welp it's become the norm to cry "LAG" for any mistakes as no-one can prove otherwise. Also Mei, if it was "server lag" everyone would be suffering from it. not just you![]()

Uh, he has a specific rotation. It's easy to know when a weight of the land is coming. It's a simple rotation that's not hard to memorize.
People with PS3s sometimes have to compensate too. The system won't always display graphical effects as early as it should.

...that's not lag?
You discount lag as an issue, fine, we obviously aren't as perfect as you....what about the other problems? reflexes? r/l issues? handicap?

Not ashamed to admit, I've always struggled with Titan HM. It's more about memorization about when things are gonna happen and where. I play heals, so there's a lot to focus on. Not an excuse, but shit happens.Been grinding titan..I know it is DF but cmon..when many of the DPS have 100 level gear I expect them to be goodish..but so many times it comes down to me being the only dps alive..and we turtle along until I kill it. Why are people so bad at dodging ;_; titan HM isnt even hard.

No, Titan HM is not hard.
But to be fair, a lot of us (Like here in Australia) play with 280-400 Ping.
Actually I heard when Yoshi was here briefly he died to Weights in Titan and was surprised... I don't have a source for that but I do want to find it.
I resort to using a Tunnel so I can get Ping below 250.
When it expired I did a Titan and got myself killed, the difference was that without the tunnel I absolutely must be stacked on the most outer person in the group or I will be struck by weights.
So while it IS manageable... it is far less forgiving and ultimately effects my performance in other duties when I need to watch myself so very hard.
After reading some comments here I can't help but put my opinion. There are several issues:
- A player's dodging skill CAN be a issue yes, but that's in case they're NOT LAGGING and still get hit by it.
- Don't forget this is a international MMO, there are ppl from all over the world playing so the most issue I see in this game is related to tunneling/connection route. Fights like T5+ and Titan EX are pretty unforgiving to anyone having lag (which I see as a not smart system taking in consider not all countries have "top tier" internet + server distance). Many people try to solve this issue by using programs such as Battleping, WTFast, etc. I personally dislike the idea, you already pay for the game sub and you'll also have to pay a extra software's monthly fee to be lagless, which is almost the same amount you pay for the game? Not everyone's currency is Dollar. :P
- Predicting Titan's moves even while you're lagging was always UNWELCOMED in all groups I've done this. Try to predict a plume and have one or two of these not following the "stack strat", which seems to become a "rule" nowadays, then a healer or someone get hitted because you left a tad earlier and when group wipes or someone dies, you're blamed for it. LAG is not constant, it can delay 1 second..it can delay 5 seconds...etc.
I kinda expect someone to eventually show up saying "Then don't play this game if you live so far away". To that I already let this: FF XIV is not region limited like a few other titles around being USA-only, Canada-only or EU-only. So if you're not happy, just leave the lagged group and try another Roulette or PF it.
It's just sad how some delay can screw up everything, specially in this boss, taking in consider it's fight follows a specific order of atacks instead of random skills.

So true.
I think people who never experienced this kind of latency, where you are out of an attack for seconds and still get hit, just don't understand that there is nothing you can do.
Using 3rd party software to reduce latency is no solution, it's a workaround.
I'm not a network engineer but is it imposible to use a host state rewind system, where your position data and the attack data you try to evade gets a timestamp and is compared by the server, to determine if you were out of the attack when it happened on your screen?
I guess the data transfer would be too high for that, but such a system would at least be fair for players who are further away from the next data center.
Or SE could make new servers for locations with unreasonable high latency.

Unfortunatly, it could be abuse by hacker, saying "you have moved in time" to the server but in fact you didn't. You could send false "good timing" information to the server to be safe every time, even without moving correctly. So true.

the issue with this is some RMT have already figured out how to do move hacks so their whole idea that this server side polls everything will prevent it was blown out of the water. they would be better off finding anti cheat software that will prevent this that wont root your system(I.E. Gameguard is notorious for this causing lots of crashes by killing important processes it shouldn't be able to touch) then changing the polling to a server/client handshake which is a lot more acurate

I play on PS3 and have little issue dodging his pattern because it is in fact a pattern. It never changes each phase. Learn it and move a little bit before it happens. I have no sympathy for players who refuse to learn the rotation.
