Exactly, as someone who Mains MNK atm I'd be more concerned about a Ninja stealing my spot, more than them stealing my gear.
i'm kinda sure that monk and ninja will share stuff... why? CT stuff, remember the fuma armor? wille be sad to have a ninja that can't wear the ninja looking armor. that will be dumb.
don't forget a point, we know that they will add more and more and more class in the futur. MSK, DRK , SAM, RDM,... we will at a time get more class looking for the same stats it's bound to happend... now or later *shrugs*
Yah i'd guess nin and mnk share gear.
so if you take 2 melee to a pt, it will be drg and nin, probably. Or all 3
If you're a static, or farm group, you'll just have to fight over it, you'll get your stuff eventually.
it's really not different from 2 mnks, or 2 drg, fighting over same gear.
would only be bothersome in 2nd coil, because of lock-out.

well,judging from 2.28's data mining under the skills section,most likely Rogue/Ninja's main stat will be DEX
edited:since the other traits alongside with those 3 DEX up traits all crying out to be from Rogue/Ninja
for example:
落下ダメージ軽減=reduced falling damage
移動速度アップ=movement speed up
ステルス効果アップ=stealth enhancement(according to the description,it looks like that u will move slower under stealth mode,this trait eases that up a bit)
the others seem to be related to Rogue/Ninja's dps mechanics,like singe target or multi target poison enhancement,throwing knives enhancement,TP regen and Combo B-1(not sure what this is) etc.

IMO
OP is somewhat correct. SE should actually address the loot diversity. It's bad enough as it is.
One of my annoyances is that say you for whatever reason get a party of nothing but melee and certain things are shared, you've got to compete with 4 rolls, and the drops are so sparse.
Another thing SE should consider is the system Diablo 3 now uses "Smart Loot" and only allow loot drops for the classes actually present to use, and make a toggle for the party leader to change loot rules thusly for Farm parties versus Progression parties.
I shudder to think about the loot for Casters when new caster classes are added and they use INT.
I disagree with the pre hysteria though, we've no idea what Ninja will really use.
I think that would be the new gunner class they work obviously with dex, I highly doubt they add 2 new Dex based classes.http://xivdb.com/?search/!patch-Patch2.28

Ninja are close combat and dex states it affects Ranged damage and parry, block rate thats about it.
ok,i edited the former post on why i take those traits to be from Rogue/Ninja,
and yea,while at first i think its rational to have an extra DEX based dps to share DEX loots,it immediately occurs to me how the description goes about DEX currently in the game,
i dont think it would be that hard for them to change that,they may just left it the way it is now just to avoid confusion before a DEX based melee is out

Just a note... Attribute descriptions and what they affect can change class to class. Check out the descriptions of each on different classes and you should see it changing slightly. That means they could change the description for Rogues should they wish.But that's not how DEX works. DEX, very clearly, is a stat that boosts ranged physical damage. While it may make sense thematically, it does not work mechanically. STR is the stat for physical melee damage, and the absolute easiest method of assigning gear to the Rogue/Ninja would be to give it the same gear Pugilist/Monk gets.
So Monks suddenly have to share their loot with another job, big deal. Tanks, healers, and casters have had to deal with it this whole time, Bards will have to deal with it when Musketeer gets released, and Dragoons will have to deal with it as soon as we get another heavy-armor melee DPS class.
