2. I also want a very social group in ARR. I have three RL friends playing but I also want a 24/7 Teamspeak going. I like social guilds in MMOs that talk about their day, joke around and stuff.

You could post in the world forums for your world or check there. There might be some looking for people. Else you could try shouting for a social FC/LS and such - there might be ones that don't try to recruit actively or only have one or two people recruiting if that.
Guess I got lucky with cerberus as there seem to be quite a few social FCs around. The FCs I've been in have all taken an active role in trying to make new people feel welcome amongst them even if there are smaller groups of people already doing stuff together. I had end game people help me with my low level dungeons when I was new and such. We were all encouraged to chat and help eachother.
I also at times miss the sitting infront of a dungeon waiting for enough people to form a group to go in.
One way some people solve this is to start their own "Friends of Person" LS and then invite people they find to have fun with or talk to them while sitting in the inn and such. That way you start getting a group rolling.
Hmm, Rhahiim are you willing to talk to people? Whether I start or join a fate party I always talk to the people in it and 9/10 times the people I meet are very cool. It turns into adding everyone and assisting each other from time to time be it with a dungeon run or more fate grinding down the line. Also, dancing half-naked in the streets usually attracts people... although most of the time lalafells are the ones to join in
If you ever have an itch to move, come join Lamia!
I feel you!
Had this issue for a while in FFXIV, then accidentaly joined FC which has many total members (approx. 200), but online we have usually same people in number of 15-20.
We have a bunch of nice people who like to chat and whenever somebody needs help with clearing something, there is quite a response from FC in my opinion.
Members usually level multiple classes so they often have characters for all dungeon ranges.
If you are on Phoenix, then poke me one day as social new members are always welcome.
By the way, you have to give people and yourself time to get a feeling of belonging. It's not like you join FC or somebody joins yours and you are best ingame friends from day one. It takes time, sharing experiences, playing together etc.
Regards,
M

same situation really, friends arnt interested in playing ff14, play by myself, get bored eventually, cut down my playtime hours massively, now just log in to cap on nights i've got nothing to do just so my gear doesnt fall too far behind.
if you spend most of your time in df you dont really make friends or get ls invites, and the ls's i was in have slowly crumbled away
it works out for the best since i started a family, new job etc. and don't have time to dedicate to a static at the moment, i do wish i could get a few nights in to do scob, but its not the end of the world.
I used to, but now I have found some great linkshell and we often play together. It's about finding the right one for you!
I dont seem to get many friend requests. I have been in a couple of fc, the first one disbanded to join another group, and instead of joining them, I joined another which seemed like it might be more suited to my time zone. My current fc was already well established, with lots of little groups within, but my first evening on I got invited to go on some runs. Now I wouldn't exactly say I've made friends, however, there is usually someone willing to join regardless of what you are doing
Hi there. I try and jump on when I can. Also playing in Phoenix and would like to join a FC. Still relativally new to MMO's but quite enjoying the experience. Wouldn't mind teaming up if you're interested? Not too sure how you go about it though?

Wow! first of all thank you for all your advices I appriciate that people actually care for one another
I also noticed people are generally kind to eachother
About linkshells
I have never used a linkshell
About servers
I like playing in Phoenix, I think people are in general kind to new players
I had many end-gamers helping me through trials and dungeons
About FC
Yes there are many FC's and everyone of them have their own uniqueness.
Eventhough I only have experienced few I enjoyed it, and yes it takes time to get noticed or learn the other players in your respective FC
and that is maybe why I'm looking foreward to create my own with two other players
Thank you for all your responces friends. I will continue learning more about the game

PS it seems like a common issue that some people are experiencing this game alone so please if you read this and have questions then ask them
because I'm sure there are people in here willing to answer them
I had a lot of these issues too, I ended up finding a great FC to I run with now and started adding people that I really enjoyed playing with. Never be scared to ask someone if you can add them even if you dont play everyday with them you can build a friends list of good players and can draw on them when you need help.
You are right about a lot of people playing alone and it really kills the point of a MMO especially a FF online game. I try to help out people as much as I can so they enjoy the game more.
Give a man a fish and he'll be fed for a day. Teach a man to fish and he'll promptly forget that he once didn't know and proceed to call anyone who asks a n00b and flame them on the boards for being stupid.
