i think it's a big difference between DRG doing DPS, and thief...restoring low hp/mp/swapping aggro.
you don't need a drg specifically, no...but you need DD.
What role do you want THF to be anyway? sounds like your idea is support type, but until/if we get that, BRD is DPS, and and THF would be DD.
And Yoshi already gave reasons for NOT adding THF...so, why even speculate? It just sounds like they didnt see much incentive to add THF as a job...i don't either.

Just because you do not have a creative idea as to how a Thief Job can work in this game doesn't mean that professional game developers can not. Also Thief was never just a job that can steal. Other MMO's made Thief-like jobs pretty uber and became popular. Like Rogue from WoW.

Like many ppl already said, many times before....Rogue is already doing everything that THF can do. So THF and ROG is the same...

I don't want to join a mindless discussion here, you know how the game is right now, but not how it will be in the future, Yoshi wants to implement hybrid jobs, it's on 2 or 3 interviews, don't ask for a source because i don't save the information in case i have to argue about it.

Anyways that's not the point, i just say they can implement w/e they want because they're designing this game and they have the freedom needed to listen the customers and do w/e they want.

ofc, BRD is already a hybrid job, so is SMN (even more so, since they can tank with egi, dps, and heal their pet)
but like i said, they already gave reasons NOT to add THF, and no, it doesn't mean they will never add it...they might.
if they had any good ideas for THF, they would probably have added THF together with NIN...but they didn't, so i don't think they have any good ideas of how to make a good job out of THF.

No, but there's the translated traits from dat-mined patch file.
and we saw combat video of how rogue plays.
and thief has been around in XI for...10 years? in XI, thieves were a DD job.
So they removed steal, and renamed it Rogue, and made it a class.
And since you brougt up WoW Rogues, they are DD, and so is XIV Rogues. So both are awesome DPS, by your standard.
And Yoshi already said that Rogues are Thieves, that stopped Thieving....so Rogues do everything that Thieves does...except steal.
You're claiming i lack imagination, but....there's a saying in Sweden: dont throw stones, in glass houses.

Edit: Actually i will bring Rogue to T9, and show that it will be viable

Make sure its Rogue CLASS and not Ninja JOB. Either way even if you some how got into a party for the lolz as a class it still doesn't make it a Thief Job. You seem rather unwilling to acknowledge those facts, and to that I feel sad for you that you can't comprehend that.

Oh that was my fault, i meant hybrid role not just job, the only valid reason to add a job is if the customers ask for it, as you said they might add it later or not, no one can say if there are no reasons to add it, or if here are, besides the dev team.

The only thing we can say for sure is that thief is a classic ff job since ff1, and no one of the classes are named after, or taken as classic jobs, not wanna hear anything about translations or free interpretations about what Yoshi said in the LL, and of course if they don't add thf i'll just take it, but if they say thf is a class (even it it's named rouge) then they made a mistake.

No one ever touches the very fact that in FF I Warrior becomes a Knight which is another term for the Paladin job. Because then their FFI argument falls flat.

I said in the original it was fighter, and I was right, they changed the name in later versions, you were the one that said it was originally warrior, and it wasn't, at least not here in the states.
