Sounds like you do not understand the games mechanics.

I do, and I also understand that you're confusing the issue for reasons that don't seem anything more than petty. The distinction of "Rogue" and "Thief" are a non-issue. Rogue has been the defacto classification for Thief across many RPGs and MMOs. As I already mentioned, there really is no reason to cry foul until we actually see with our own eyes what the class can do and whether we need an additional "Thief" skill set as a job or not. Hell, I even included a provision in my first post on this page that they could easily include a THF job under whatever pretext the lore writers want. Yoshida only answered why there's a "Rogue" as opposed to a "Thief" guild in cities as is.
My issue with your stance, and to be fair, the stance of many other players, is that you seem to reject the idea of letting the developers explore the different ways they can branch out of the norm to create something fresh and interesting, before even seeing what they are or aren't doing. Screaming bloody murder that we need a thief job because you need it for whatever reason is asinine and unfair.

I will say this one time to you. People want to play a Thief JOB. There is no possible way you can show up to a party in end game as a class and not piss people off. If you want to take that chance that is your business but to expect everyone else to think like you is silly.I do, and I also understand that you're confusing the issue for reasons that don't seem anything more than petty. Other RPG's follow behind the Final Fantasy series. Why would Final Fantasy now replace their iconic job with a class named Rogue? That just seems very off and incorrect. It's because of other MMO's that this game is casual, boring, and has no open world content. I'm one of the few who hate duty finder.
