Don't worry LoLo, people have taken what was said out of context and made assumptions. Thief will be a second job for rogue down the line.My subscription ends in two days so I hope the rest of E3 is better because its kind of hard to be motivated to renew knowing there is no Thief Job. I gave up on wishing for open world content...but no Thief Job? Welp.
There is no point in playing a job I'm not interested in when I will have to devote unholy amounts of real life time farming my relic all the way up to the best form. XD!
Given the fact thief has appeared in pretty much every final fantasy title, it was mentioned rogues originated from thieves, rogues seem to have everything you would expect from a thief with the exception of thief specific abilities (steal, treasure hunter) and that the game uses a FF14 specific class that progresses to a traditional FF job, I would call it an educated guess said with confidence.
Well nothing was said about those abilities, I would think they would be mentioned as they are very iconic. "Treasure hunter is a trait" Yes in ff11 its a trait, it wouldn't exactly be hard to make it into an ability in ff14 making it job specific. If rogue gets steal and treasure hunter that means ninja would, which wouldn't fit with the role ninja fills everytime its been used in the ff series. There's a lot more reasons why they will make thief a job for rogue than why they wouldn't, but I guess we will have to wait and see. Anyone who's played the previous ff games will know they love a throwback in ff14, I would go as far to say I'd be shocked if they never introduced a job that's been in almost every ff game since ff1.
