They specifically said thieves wouldnt fit the world, because what city would allow that. The rogues are former thieves

I lol'd a bit during the live letter when Yoshi said the bit about the city not allowing a Thief's guild.
A rogue is a thief, an outlaw, etc. No city wouldn't allow Rogues either for the same reason they wouldn't allow Thieves.
Much like no city would allow a guild of Assassins.
It's like 'Come to X city and get assassinated! =D'


Anyway, I'm really bummed that Thief isn't an actual job lol.
They should have made Rogues and Ninjas a hidden/secret part- think Tenshodo ala FFXI.

I would be more comfortable with thieves than thaumaturges/black mages. Then there's the whole Limsa literally being a city of sea-thieves thing.
