NINJA and ROGUE confirmed

Just after the video shown. They specifically said a Thieves guild wouldn't fit in the world and went with Rogue's Guild. "Who would allow a guild for thieves in town?" They didn't say a Thief job wouldn't come in the future. Similar to how Thaumaturge Guild is okay because Black Magic/Black Mage is super forbidden in the game lore.

Well sure, anything's possible. I'll reserve final judgement til I get to watch it, but that's pretty much the biggest disappointment I've had in this game in that case. :\


EDIT: @LoLo, yeah that REALLY makes no sense as a reason. They have guilds dedicated to practicing dark arts, assassination and wanton murder is the norm, but a guild of thieves having a front would still be too far-fetched?

Well 2.4 I'm going to have a new favorite class. So in the coming weeks to that I will be having capped Tomes. Makes me wonder how good Ninja would be as a DPS, Would have to make a relic for it..... Also I wonder if they will add new weapons/gear to older content, Like T5,T9 weapons. I assume they will be STR based jobs.

Honestly I want steal to be focused solely on attributes, I don't trust SE with treasure-hunting or item acquisition after FFXI, there were far too many instances of, "We know Thief isn't doing damage or managing hate, but if we made them good at what they're supposed to be good at, they'd be OP with treasure hunter" which relegated the class at the highest levels of play to being invited when a mob was at 5% to hit it once.

There's also the fact that it excludes the common lore other jobs get with previous FFs, such as AF, subtle nods to other famous characters of the job (Such as BLM and Shantoto), etc.
