Community Opinions on new interactive furniture idea.

Had an idea last night, and bounced it off my buddies in my raid static and they all really liked it. I wanted to post it here and maybe gather some thoughts from the forum community as well.

It would be pretty cool if we could have aquarium's in our houses as furniture. And what would be even cooler, is if the fishermen/women of Eorzea could stock those aquariums with the fish they caught.

You could even do different size aquariums with differing difficulty/material requirements. Make the large aquarium a 3star craft and allow it to be big enough to display those rare Big Fishing fish. Or make a small aquarium with your level 45 crafter if you want to show off that HQ Ogre Barracuda you just mooched. Make it to where you can change the fish you have in the aquarium in and out at will.

Small aquarium can display 2 types of fish
Medium aquarium can display 4 types of fish
Large aquarium can display 8 types of fish or 2 "big fish"

Or you know, whatever. The values don't have to be set in stone or anything. Just guidelines for something that I think could add some diversity to people's homes and be a fun way to continuously customize something in your home.

    Opinions?

Edit: Hmm, looks like this idea has already been in a few threads. Sorry for creating this unnecessarily! Still would like to know thoughts of the community though!

    I do like this idea
Though according to the lvl 50 fisher quest, those big fish are far too big to fit in a house

My fisher is only level 40ish, so I'm not too sure if there is lore behind the "big fish" or not.

But my question is, if these fish are bigger then my medium house than how the heck do they explain us being able to catch them?!?!

Sounds great but I've read on past threads that there is a problem already with what can be put in housing. I don't understand it so I'm explaining bad but SE has only so much storage space on their end so people cannot put much furniture in their house? Those that bought a large house found out you can only furnish one floor? Then there was the if your fc doesn't enter a house in a month's time it gets taken away issue. Housing in this game is just on the poopy roll atm.

How about an outdoor mini fish pond? That seems like it might be a nice place to fill out the yard.

Also I'd love if we could have an actual INTERACTIVE armoire instead of having to go to an inn to store stuff in it.

They should at least have a taxidermy service for the fish that are too big to be in an aquarium. That megalodon is said its big enough to swallow a full grown Roe whole so making it take up a wall would suffice.

I think this argument was in regards to having more space period in housing to place furniture. (I remember this thread/argument but it was awhile ago, I could be wrong.) For instance, a medium house being able to have 200 spots of furniture instead of the 150 you get? Maybe it is too much to be able to render so many different fish combinations in an aquarium in the housing instance, but would be cool for personal rooms coming in 2.3 since I assume we would have small instanced rooms.

They laid the groundwork for interactive furnishings, though. (i.e. Protection/Purification Modules, Manor instruments etc.) And maybe my numbers were too hefty? Cut them all in half so aquariums can only render a smaller amount of fish if it's too taxing on the server. I just think if they were going to continue down the path of furnishings that you can interact with, there is a huge possibility to make something really awesome for players to enjoy and gives another use for people to fish.

I think this is a great idea. I know in EQ 2 if you were a tailor, you could put your clothes out on mannequins... they should have things like that for crafters here... I mean this is a much newer game.

Culinarians could also set the table with delicious food. Botany should be required for planting trees/plants and for taking care of them. There are a ton of roles that the craft jobs could play in the domicile... this game currently has severely limited housing fun stuffs.
