    Content: Showing Results VS No clear progression. ( Atma Thread)

    I love this game very much, this is the only MMO I do play at the present time.

    However, I do have a gripe that is irking me. That is the Atma, dun dun dunnn.. lol.

    What's the problem I am having with Atma? The drop rate is absurdly low... so low to the point where, there is no clear progression ( Do X amount of something to get something).

    What's the solution? Showing results! If 1 person is doing less than you and getting the same reward, it's considered unfair. Yes grinding is fine, but don't attach RNG to it. When you do that the content becomes "If your lucky enough you'll get it" not "If I'm good enough (skill wise) i'll get it."

    We need results for progression not luck. ( Yes the Atma grind is getting me still stuck at 2 atma since like 1 month ago >.<.)

    It'd be one thing if obtaining all the Atma's applied to all subclasses as well... but nope.

    I think they should add an option to get atmas by doing all the dungeons to help with the queues for dungeons. For example, you would have to do the dungeons starting from the lower level up until the last dungeon before you hit level 50 and you would get an atma.

    Also, if they want to attach it to fates, make it to where if you have to do all of the big NM fates, you get an ATMA after you've killed them all. That's just a couple ideas I have, probably not the best ideas but at least it's progression. lol.

    The FATEs one is pretty good, better than randomly getting one ( out of 500 tries lol)

    My issue is Atma RNG is it gates away players with low play time.

    I only get a few hours out of the week. So it would be nice if I can play for 30 mins and work towards Atma but the RNG makes it virtually impossible. At least with the myth books you can work on it little by little, I don't understand why the preferred design is put behind the RNG wall of Atma.

    I was hoping they would do away with RNG from FFXI and just do all progression but not having to do the same thing over and over. If they mix up what you have to do to get the ATMAs instead of doing the same thing for hours, it'll make the grind alot more bearable. And yes, one out of 500 tries on the same thing is no bueno.

    Look at it this way- They don't show you progression... because the "reward" isn't progressive.... it's the same item with a different color.

    Asian MMORPG... I think players from the East are really big on content like RNG Atma. And since SE probably favours their Japanese players more... I do not expect change to happen in awhile.

    I totally disagree, Atma can be a pain,but if you put all your time on it you'll have it done in 2 days or 1 week if you are unlucky, if you don't have the time just try to get 2 or 3 every weekend, And once you get it it will feel way more rewarding than anything you can buy with tomes.
    What you call showing results or clear progression, i call it worthless progression.

    Luck is a gaming skill, just like memorization, strategy and reflexes, just don't try to change the only RNG non instanced content we have in this lobby game.

    Now to be less critic and a bit more helpful, they could create some triggers to improve the drop rate, like FATE participation since the moment you entered the area, weather or time.

    Um.. What? Luck doesn't even take skill, not even in the slightest. >.>

    Nothing can get around the fact that Someone will be doing less work than others and still getting the same reward. It's unfair. It be different if it takes someone a long time due to skill issues. but at least you are "guaranteed" something when you do complete it. When you do a FATE for Atma you aren't guaranteed a drop, and to top it off the drop rate is absurdly low that you need strong mental will to even complete if you happen to be the unlucky ones like myself.
