Hitting 50, and not too sure where to head next...

In recent weeks I've hit 50 on Weaver, Goldsmith and Carpenter. Added Botanist and Miner to the list last night too.

There are a wide range of sites, guides and posts for progression up to 50. Now that I'm hitting 50, all I seem to see is optimal equipment lists, ideal max melds, and macros for HQing starred recipes with high degrees of success, but with high stats required for this.

I can't seem to see any pointers to get me from hitting 50 to those lofty heights!

    My stats are too low to make use of the macros I'm seeing out there; I'm not sure how to best use the new skills I'm gaining; I've no idea how to aim towards increasing my stats gradually; how best to combine the new skills I'm getting, improve my macros gradually; how to raise the gil for the expensive materia I'll need, or whether it's best to try getting my own;

So I'm kinda at a loss - I see where I need to be, and I'm willing to put the time and effort in, but I'm not too sure how to get there.

Get the HQ Lv50 DoH gear and meld it?

I'm not sure what your confusion is. If you see the optimal equipment and melds, it should be plain to see how to get to your destination, no?

Reading the tooltips, observing the macros, and just general experimentation should give you insight in how to best use your skills. Don't expect anyone to tell you how to make money. Whether your farm your own materia or not is entirely up to you. If you're still at a loss, trying asking something more specific.

basically start playing the mb to make gil to meld your gear.

meld with the max stats in mind and then after you can start to earn more gil to progress into making the token for the i70 gear.

oh and raise the rest of your classes too.

If the general approach is to just head for the market board, buy HQ equipment and a pile of materia, then that's simply beyond my purse strings right now due to the high prices of the materia I'd need on my server right now.

I figured people would be making gradual updates, and working along a path in a similar way to working towards 50.

Sorry to have wasted your time.

You're a GSM, right? I'm just leveling my GSM right now, it's only level 33 and I'm making a TON of money off the marketboard making and competitively selling low-level HQ jewelry. I suggest you do the same and save up to buy your HQ artifact equipment.

You know what's so overpowered in this game, that they just HAD to leave out?
    -Buffing during cutscenes.
    -Pets receiving the Protect buff.
-A blacklist with more than a 200 player capacity.
-Filtering the flying text for your own numbers.
-A better way to organize and sort through your macros.

This is my problem really. I'm just about to hit 50 with my goldsmith, as well as being 50 weaver and alchemist. It's all in well fine me having enough money to provide for my next crafting levelling, but how do i step up my game in the making money side of things, how do i utilise what i have available to me to the best extent possible.

It's a LOT of money investment on my server, 250k for 1 craftsman (insert type) III, and crazy crazy amounts for the IV's.

If you're looking for an easy answer, like create 'X' and then sell it for 'Y' on the marketboard, there is none. You have to put in a little research work. See what's selling reliably and selling for high prices and then find out if you can easily and quickly make those pieces and then competitively sell them! Right now, low-level HQ jewelry seems to be selling reliably well and for A LOT more than it takes in raw materials and time to craft them out. Experiment a little. Make some stuff and sell it. See how quickly it sells and then just keep repeating. You will have to invest a little time researching what's selling and their prices and also actively be watching the marketboard for undercutters in order to actively be making top-dollar.

Also, look for trends in the marketboard. People WILL buy jewlery for their alts while they're leveling, so that's going to be in demand. High level jewlery will always be in demand, because of spiritbonding. Leve turn-in items will always be a good sell. Anything that's a popular raw material will always be a reliably good sell (ex. silver ingots, all the gemstones, etc.). Basically anything you ever personally bought off the marketboard for one of your characters (gear, leve turn-ins) while leveling, is a pretty good idea of what sells reliably!

There are some very useful pages on the web about crafting, especially the use of Macros which are an absolute must when churning out HQ Mats.

I can HQ pretty reliably, if something isn't hq, i don't sell it xD. And i'm just now getting to the point of being able to hq 1 star twinthread with normal materials, although it's probably about 70% of the time, and luck dependent.

But yeah, I appreciate the having to keep an eye on things, but I find it crazy with the fluctuations in prices (madmans whispering rod from 135k to 20k over a week?, same for many other items). It's difficult to make money as the instant i invest in mats to put up more stuff to sell, the market on that item crashes lmao.
