As i said over anal if you win and you help your team get off my back just because I'm not playing like you want me to. Everyone talks as if I'm saying i just sit their and do nothing. No i go hard just like everyone else in a dungeon. Tell me has some ever told you (You are not play your class right) or have told you. (You should do this) Yes i know they have it's an mmo you're always going to run into someone that thinks you are playing wrong. All I'm saying is you don't have to listen to EVERY SINGLE PLAYER with a Keyboard / Controller & a Opinion. Trust me i play just fine i get no criticisms 0 All i would get is asked why i wasn't a SUM but that's it.

And without a tank and damage dealers, a healer is just as useless. It takes all 3 to function properly. In the end, it's your 15$ a month so you have the right to play as you want but it's other players 45$-345$ a month (3-23 additional players) that's being wasted for your own selfish way of wanting to play sub-optimally because "it's fun". So these players totally have the right to be pissed at players wasting their time.

This is it exactly it. Not being a SUM will lower your damage. This means the fight is going to last longer and put more stress on the healer and tank to stay alive. The choice not to use the tools that every single player should be using means that someone has to carry the person without the job. It's incredibly rude to the rest of the party for absolutely no benefit.

I 100% Agree my point was you don't have to play your SUM the way some random player tells you to play. There is nothing wrong with some good advice every now and then. But the game lose a lot of it's fun factor when one player is telling you to. (Do this this way) And another is telling you (No do it this way)

I got my SUM class so i can help my team better some times i even ask if they would like me to play a certain way. If they type nothing then they really can't cry because I'm not playing a certain way.

With two casts of blizzard 2 you have already done more DPS than the miasma II would do if left to fall off.

So you're saying it takes two casts of Blizzard 2 to beat Miasma 2. Gotcha.

Are being a bit anal 68 dam vs 55 dam yeah i may do more dam if i play your way. But I'm killing my own fun by playing like someone else. And the whole playing wrong thing is over blow. Yes i had people ask (You're not a Sum?) Which i am now but before i would say no and we would continue with the dungeon. Not 1 time did me and my party die because i was an ARC not even in any lvl 50 dungeons. There has even been a time were i save the whole party after they died. Not because of me but because the healer was on the phone. I healed myself and killed all the enemies using Bane and then Res'ed everyone and we when on to win.

1) I find it odd that you wouldn't want your play style to be better. I'd understand if the two were equally potent in different ways, but the method you're choosing is demonstrably weaker. Whatever, though. . .

2) Everything you did while saving your team you could have done better as a SMN than as an ACN (not ARC, that's Archer). All of your dots that you were baning to kill the enemies would have been more potent, your Physick would have been more potent, your pet attacks would have been more potent. . .and you don't even have any cross-class skills I can see that should have made a difference.

I have purposely stayed as an archer in some instances when playing with friends only. Mainly because of the same reason: everyone would expect me to be a bard. The problem is, as an archer, i use a lot of the other cross-class abilities, (mainly Mercy Strike, Bloodbath, and Invigorate--all abilities not available to Bard)

Some people like their system and get all pissy when someone presents a new idea. My suggestion is to mainly stick with friends when doing that to avoid hate.

To you and OP,

Classes get more cross class because they're built for Solo play. Jobs are meant for Party play. You can play as an Archer as much as you want, but usually in a party environment you don't need to worry about, say, having to cross class cure because that's what the white mage is there for, and you're expected to be a Bard. AND if you're an archer, you don't have your songs, and you know damn well that when the WHM runs out of MP, you'll be the first they blame for not being a bard and using Mage's Ballad.

Sorry i mean ACN and yes i Agree with you both (Viridiana) & (Rex) Like i said i go hard when it's party time. And while i agree with you SUM would have got it done better. The fact that i got it done at all as a ACN got crazy respect from the other players that was using jobs. But I'm no stubborn fool i see now that SUM rocks it's like a ACN on steroids i see that now lol.

Btw, bane plumes from ruda time your shit guys.

SMNs are capable of burst damage in boss instances, bane! and fester. Just as a SCH has to know the fight to be v effective, as does the SMN.

If you are saying you should use miasma 2 because not enough time to cast blizzard LOL, Miasma 2 only does more when it has done its full duration otherwise it is weak.

Thanks I'm lvl'ing Thaumaturge now and who knows i may even like playing a Summoner only one way to find out i guess lol

You should have THM at 26 for swiftcast anyways if you like playing SCH.

I've been a SMN for a while now and I'm solo lvl'ing all my classes. And i only dungeon with close friends now it's easier that way. Dungeons go so much smoother when you can chat using skype or phones. Anyway thanks for the advice Swiftcast is a must i see but I'm loving Raging Strikes as well. It's good for getting that damage boost in a boss fight.

Personally I enjoy going back to ACN from time to time bc of Carbuncle pets.

They are cute compared to Egis, even though the dps kind will always be weaker than Garuda (I used to dream that I'd get a female harpie by my side instead of a green bird prototype...) and the tanker kind be less efficient than Titan (still fun for AoE dps though).

But yea, as many said.. there are only advantages in being a SMN instead of ACN. Idk your gameplay style but some guides you can find in both FF XIV Forum and Google can also be useful.
