Ever since pharos Sirius came out I've assumed the 1.0 years in development don't count. If they developed ANYTHING from that point, they would of shown with that damn pirate miniboss.

I'm ganna assume they only have the manpower for one class per year...

Except they kept the musketeer in the game, which they could have easily removed when redoing RR. And Yoshi said Dagger and Gunner classes were coming out sooner than we thought like a month or less ago. Which means yes, its still coming. And many times in live letters hes said 'yes i know people still want a gunner class' so he knows.

When did they actually say acn and msk would be the first two out?

Its something that has been going on for years. Back when the game first came out in 1.0 they said ACN and MSK would be the first two classes. Then ARR came out and they kept the MSK guild saying yes we know you still want it, then brought out ACN.

Its just something a lot of people who have been playing since alpha of 1.0 have been wanting a long time and they keep saying its coming and we are still waiting.

There is still Live Letter so Hopefully they will mention SOMETHING about it....

When did they actually say acn and msk would be the first two out? ACN came out first because it won the poll of what most players wanted, and also because we needed another healer. I dont remember what came second but people have been asking for a dual wield thief/ninja for a long time and seems a lot more widespread than gunner. Although I would have liked to see gunner too, it MIGHT come out before the expansion but after rogue, they brought it up after all and said its 'not what we're expecting'. Otherwise most likely the expansion, along with the tank and healer classes they are talking about.

But then hey, they might be saving it to announce it later at E3/the next live letter in a few days.

They confirmed Rogue=Thief because "Thief" just wouldn't fit well in the towns/cities stories about having their own guild so Rogue is Thief.

That is pretty horribly disappointing, and really kind of silly. In a game with Black Mages especially. Or the fact you could put it outside a town, or like any significant illegal organization, have a "front" for it. Or any number of the hundreds of excuses that are 100% believable and could fit in Eorzea.

Their excuse was "Rogue" is a more refined class of "Thief". It's slightly disappointing that it isn't named "Thief" but as long as it still is Thief in it's actions/story/look/combat/feel idc if they called it the "Naruto Class" lol I just want the meat of the "Thief" itself, the name sake isn't that big of a deal to me personally.

Sounds to me like they're taking a cheap route out since a lot of people would be up in arms if they made a classic FF job a class, so they renamed it. They pretty much guaranteed I'll never get to play a pure stealth melee at 50 by making it a class and saying it's replacing Thief.

Someone can correct me, but I'm pretty sure that they said Rouge is the more refined form of Thief so thief isn't happening.
