but before you make any decisions i would just make an alt on another server 1st and get the feel of the place. 18 bucks isnt alot but having to pay that and not liking the destination would suck.

ps. cactuar is good. but not chatty. but thats pretty much what i hear about every server minus rp ones

I see balmung is a legacy server... is it welcoming to new players? Are there low level players running around in lower level zones. Jw since its legacy is it mainly an endgame server.

I would recommend staying on Faerie. There are plenty of people in the Level 20-30 range and leveling up their main. You can see our FC member list and see that is definitely the case. See:

We try to get people to play together, progress together, and have a good time together. If it seems that it is quiet, it probably because a lot players use the PS3/PS4 without a keyboard and have a hard time typing messages.

This far into the game, I think most servers will have a pretty good mix of heavy endgamers/casual/new players, regardless of Legacy status. I dont see that it has been mentioned, but Balmung also has one of the larger (largest?) role-playing communities, so if that's your thing, you'll probably enjoy it! If not, you'll tend to just see them in the adventurer's guilds doing their thing.

I can't offer you an established fc, but my fiancé and I wanted to start a new fc on Balmung for the exact reasons you posted this thread. We are even considering making it a ls instead, because some of the best people we've met are already in a fc (also, can't find two more people XD).
