The grinds in game really keep me from standing around in Mor Dhona... we need more fast paced content that gets me back to doing what I do best and that is standing around complaining that there is nothing to do.

On a bit more serious note, XI was all but a grind for the most part. To do the sky bosses, you had to grind the items to summon the bosses, then beat the bosses and depending on which pop you were waiting for, it might have been 3-4 hours standing around with friends killing some stuff. Also, standing with 300 of your closest friends in Dragon's Aery awaiting Fafnir or Nihdogg to pop was not exactly my cup of tea, but the rewards were grand! I enjoy raiding as much as the next guy, but I also enjoy content that takes awhile (even if it is a mindless grind) and gives me something to fill in the gaps during the week. I am getting my Rosenbogen here soon, but I really want my Novus too and eventually my High Allagan Weapon. I find that if I do the content that is in game and not throw a fit when something doesn't take 3 hours to complete because "I have a life" and how dare you not immediately hand me something because I got work unlike you people begins to grind on people's nerves too.
This game may not be bad, but it definitely isn't "good".
Just because it's an opinion doesn't make what I said invalid. The game has issues and those issues prevent it from being a good game, just like it's boons prevent it from being a bad game.
Why do people use "that's your opinion!" in an attempt to invalidate arguments that they may not agree with?
I didn't read that as any attempt to invalidate. Seemed more like a side comment on how people tend to vocalize opinions as some sort of fact. Your opinion isn't fact, but it isn't invalid. It's the same way the op said "im just merely stating the fact that square enix is taking this game in a boring and dull direction and its only going to get worse if they keep this route" where he literally called his opinion "fact."Just because it's an opinion doesn't make what I said invalid. The game has issues and those issues prevent it from being a good game, just like it's boons prevent it from being a bad game.

I don't quite understand what you're getting at with that. Are you saying it's a neutral game then? What does that mean? Are we supposed to have fun or not!? I always figured defining a video games appeal as "good" or "bad" was subjective to the individual. That "good" often related itself to "fun", and if that "fun" outweighed the bad, then it was considered good. If you're not having fun (considering the game as good), then why are you playing?

I don't try to invalidate your opinion. Just you using the word "definitely".Just because it's an opinion doesn't make what I said invalid. The game has issues and those issues prevent it from being a good game, just like it's boons prevent it from being a bad game.

And, sorry to point it out, but you actually haven't said anything besides "definitely not good" at that time.

I loved XI (yes, really) and this game is definitely, 100% not "FFXI all over again"
I agree with the dull direction. But the dull direction SE is taking FFXIV is nothing like FFXI. The comparison is just flat wrong.
