WHM or SCH?

idk if im posting this in the right section but im kinda new to FFXIV and i bet there are other post about this topic but im too lazy to look :P.
Anyway i just became a WHM but in every party im in and even my FC say that i should make a SCH. They also say both healers are great but they prefer SCH. So i am just wondering should i take the time to level up my ACN (think thats arcanist right?) to make a SCH or just keep playing my WHM.
one more thing if i do make a SCH how hard are they and how should i spend my points.

If you're enjoying whm, stick with it. Whm is just as wanted as a sch. If you enjoy healing, level it up and try it for yourself. A piece of advice I always give to new players is try and get a level 50 pretty quickly. Feel free to check out all the jobs and whatnot, but the game opens a lot once you're there and unlocking the content. Sch points should go into mind.

Sure thing. I played cnj/whm all though 1.0 and most of 2.0. I'm playing scholar a lot more now and I'm impressed with its power.

You'll want them both in the 30s anyway(Whm wants eye for a eye from arcanist, scholar wants stoneskin from cnj) so try both and see what you'd like to main. Playing both's a option too since the gear's mostly shared anyway.

Nothing against SCH, but WHM is the iconic FFXIV healer.

Swiftcast is absolutely helpful especially on endgame runs for healers, it's normally paired with Raise/Ress to instantly cast the spell which has a long cast time. If you can, learn it as soon as possible.

Both WHM and SCH are good healers. Both have their styles that people prefer.

Scholars are in greater demand mostly because there are fewer of them. I wouldn't worry too much about class balance. Either job is fully capable of handling small group content, and both are wanted for raid content. If forced to pick the better healer, I would probably say scholar, but the difference isn't enough to offset the benefits that a WHM brings to the group. I play both and prefer WHM because I think the pet mechanics are a little dodgy, but that's just me.

Swiftcast is your best crossclass skill. At endgame you will be expected to have it. But you don't need to delay your climb to 50 for it. Your choice.
