    Fix the LOVELY alexandrite maps

As if the alexandrite grind wasn't outrageous enough, I keep finding myself thrown at these "solo maps" with over 20 mobs.

    http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2dkj...8#.U5SRPfldV8E

That's without counting the batch of puks I killed.

And that's not even the issue, I got the mob to 5%, moved out of it's AOE and it broke out of its leash zone, and got back to 100% HP which timed me out.

    So problems:
    1. BS difficulty (as smn it's more manageable but with my others jobs its impossible)
    2. Minuscule leash area
    3. No clear delimitation of the leash area
    4. 5 minute timer is just horsecrap.

    ----

And while we are at it, 800 myth per map after finishing animus is like spitting in my face. I want to play FF and have fun, not grind brayflox all day long like a moonlight job.

The reward for finishing this quest is an i110 weapon. Raid-gear. It should not be easy to get.

I think you are confusing difficulty with a stupid grind they added to make hold you in place until the next patch.
These maps are not difficult, they are just deceiving and poorly designed.

    I will repeat myself:

Leash area is not shown in the mini map.
The map says solo yet a lot of these would be impossible to manage for most jobs.

Not to mention they are branded as 1 player challenges.

Twintania was challenging. I did tons of learning groups, then I got better, then I did tons of clear groups that didn't quite get there. Then I finally cleared, and cleared again...and did it a few more times and YAY!! Allagan Battleaxe. Zodiac weapons are like if twintania was level 25 and you had to kill her 10,000 or so times then you got your Allagan weapon.

They might be labeled as solo maps, but SE did say it's recommended that you bring a couple people if for nothing else than safety. It's not like you're being forced to solo the map.

    It's pretty simple:

    1) Go solo and risk getting a crappy Boss
    2) Grab a friend and down it with no problem

I highly doubt you have absolutely 0 friends that you could ask to help. Hell...you could just grab a random person and not have to worry about losing anything. The Alexandrite goes to you automatically.

It's pretty simple. Don't list content as solo friendly if not all of it is solo friendly.

Why does this mislabeling and lack of logic remind me of how SE lableled /check mobs in FFXI?

    Yes, therefore many perople have mentioned that, strictly ARR is not a traditional MMO or not a MMO ^^;

Every single map I've come across is solo friendly. Just because somebody isn't skilled enough to beat it doesn't mean it's the fault of the content. The only map I've come across that gave any trouble at all was the Morbol map and even that was minimal.

I think people are confused on what "easy" is. So far, getting this weapon is extremely easy. There is zero challenge to it besides staying awake while grinding. The problem is it's easy for hours and hours of content. I literally killed level 4 mobs to get my i100 weapons. That's BS right there. I have no problem with the raid weapons not being easy to get, I have a problem with there being zero challenge to them. So I'll do the content, because I like this game, but the challenge in this whole new relic weapon quest, is remembering why I like this game.

It IS easy to get. It's just time-consuming. Wasting all your time doing simple tasks doesn't equal difficulty.

The normal path for getting an iLVL 110 weapon is to progress in a Second Coil, which is not easy.

OP should make friends and make sure not to do the map solo anymore. Doing it with 2-3 people should be more than sufficient.

Dev team should go back to the drawing board on content that involves intense grinding, extreme luck, and/or less than 1% drop rates (in other words, boo to myth grind, boo to FATE farming, and a big boo to mirror/mount drop rate from EX primals). It would be better if relic upgrades were less grindy and more actually challenging.

But, well, I assume the dev team created relic upgrades for people who are unable to progress in Second Coil, but still want to have a good feeling about themselves. The dev team probably assumes these people love leveling, and grinding, and would prefer mindlessly repeating simple tasks rather than be challenged. People who can progress in Second Coil probably shouldn't be doing relic upgrade quests to begin with.

Is the dev team wrong? If so, might want to let them know, because they seem to want to continue doing this kind of thing (hints to this: Novus quest just as grindy as Animus, Ramuh will have iLVL 100 weapons suggested as a super rare drop like mirror/mount, because "grinding = challenge"*).

*I've won Levi EX over 100+ times. How many more times before I get a mirror and "prove" I'm good enough to smash its face in? I don't know. Tell me, dev team.
