It's a lot of fun, that's for sure. and holy in dungeons like brayflox is pretty OP: aoe dps almost as good as a black mage . For single target healing and dps'ing though, you might wanna give SCH a shot. In T8 last night my sch friend was adding around 120 dps to the boss for a lot of the time. I think he ended with a total of ... what did they say it was... maybe 90-100 dps? Very helpful. Once in T6 and T7, we had DPS races so it was kinda like chicken on who was going to have to heal the tank at any given moment hahaha.

When gearing up a WHM, most players stack DET or spell speed as their secondary stats. These provide you with more consistent healing without the risk of overhealing that stacking crit on your equipment causes. The meta has shifted recently in favor of Determination since those produce slightly stronger heals while spellspeed is useful but also is less mp-efficient (requiring better mp management). I can't say whether this will hold once 2.3 and the battlegrounds pvp holds up, so feel free to experiment. I personally use a combination of DET and crit and it has worked out for me.

Anyway, you will want to mix and match your gear to focus on 1 or 2 of those secondary stats. Build up Myth and CT until you can replace the CT with allagan. The Vortex ring of healing from garuda extreme is also something to work towards as a whm. Also from the soldiery sections, consider the daystar accessories and gloves for bis.

I have read into the determination on gear for heals stuff and have decided to go that way for sure. Would you recommend melded accessories for this or just straight myth and allagan? Farming both will be easy since I have different options for gaining these.

Hi, if you can craft or have enough gil to spend, the melded HQ Astral accesories are very good. You can meld VIT and DET, for example, I obtained two pieces. They will also serve for other jobs, like the BLM if you decide to level it.

I have the sensation that eventually you end leveling all classes. Since you need a cross-class skill, you level to 26 or 34 or whatever, and then once there one day you finally level to 50.

It happened to me with WHM. Once WHM you want swifcast, and you end leveling up the THM and finally BLM. But then you want some cross-class from archer and probably you end leveling the BRD, etc.

LOL yep, PLD, BLM, DRG, BRD all fiddy, soon WHM. For WHM I wanted to get eye for an eye, so looks like I need ACN to 34, but heck, why stop there, choose either SMN or SCH to take to 50....lol it's never ending. Luckily I have been able to cross some gear between them here and there.

I remember when I fell in love with healing. Playing DPS before and then you get tired of waiting for things and just being another face in the crowd. You become meaningful. I love seeing the green numbers pop up as players lives rely on me. I originally was a White Mage. Upon my return here I decided to go MNK because I do love the class so I started over from scratch and when I finished MNK went to leveling my WHM at 34 I decided I wanted to be a Scholar and I haven't looked back. I'll make 50 SCH today and I can't wait for healing end game content.

Yea, SCH looks pretty dang fun. Not sure if I want two heals classes though, but why not...I have three DPS classes already. Decisions...decisions.

My main is WHM... been healing for 7 years on XI so to give it a break i started as THM. then guess what? Endless DF queues, hubby had a PLD, so I bent my head and went WHM again (it's halfway addiction halfway comfort zone ) that done i finished BLM, then SMN. SCH came as a bonus to SMN, and sat there until... until it was time for T5 and my static, with 2 WHMs, was struggling to heal conflag phase. so I took one for the team and did my quests as SCH (which inherited my WHM gear minus 1pc). after you get used to the new icons (it's tough when you start @50) and the different healing mode (proactive vs. reactive), it fits like a glove and fairy micromanagement goes pretty smooth. I prefer soloing on WHM for dailies/fates but SCH works well with me... i just miss my medica 2

My group normally does T5 with double SCH due to the healing debuff the tank gets. And lustrate is just OP.

You can heal just fine with all your bonus points on ACN in INT. You will lose at most 50hp per physick and 40 hp from adlo. so if you want to do both SMN/SCH that would be my suggestion.
