    Bebe WHM

    Hello all!

Just wanted to share my experience with WHM. I am rather new to it, just finally did the job quest this weekend. I have NEVER healed before, well a couple times on RDM in XI but that was the pits.

I vowed to never do it again and took on the motto of I kill, I don't heal.

My main is PLD. That being said wouldn't you know I needed StoneSkin, which in turn meant that I had to lvl CNJ to 34. I put that off for a fair amount of time but eventually got around to it.

I was very anxious at first. First time really healing a duty was Brayflox. ALl before that were cake, due to low level and all. Brayflox was where I started to evolve I guess.

I played it till 34 and then dropped CNJ. I got stoneskin so I was done.

Just recently I became interested in WHM again. To see how well I could perform or how terribly I could fail at it.

For S&G's I entered a low level roulette and got Halitali. OMG that was fun!! I am using the <tt> macros, so while I am focused on the Tank, and he is topped up I can cleric and pop DPS stuff, turn cleric off and heal up.

The part that solidified this job getting to fiddy for me was the last boss. During the phase where he is invulnerable and the floaty fires come out, the DPS didnt realize they had to smash those so we got the crazy AOEs. We all gathered and I popped a medica and top healed. Let em know they had to smash em, then when the second round came I solo'd a whole set, AND kept everyone up!

Not a big feat by anymeans, but for someone who is never on the heals side that was neat. WHM is not just heals, there is debuff and dps in there too. I can wait for what is to come.

    Thanks for listening!!

Sounds like a lot of fun. My friend had never played healer in any mmo, leveled a scholar and was hooked. He now plays that as his main.

Glad to hear you enjoyed it! Healing may not seem as glamorous as lobbing fireballs or swinging a sword around, but I really love the impact that a strong healer can give to a group. Pulling someone's butt out of the fire and bringing the group back from wipe material can be very exciting and satisfying, and I hope you keep at it

Yeah, WHM has a very versatile kit and they can be very bursty. Good job pulling your team out of the fire in Hatalati!

Just got da REGENS...OMG I loves it. It like "Casts regen", Cleric > DPS (heals if needed), cleric off, wait, regen, repeat lol. I know that's not right but it is working for these levels so far.

Definitely a worthwhile choice to lvl.

Just remember that regen will pull aggro if it's ticking for the next pull. Try out presence of mind with stone 2 for a dps buff.

I will try that, using it to shorten cast time to get out more I take it.

Progressing along as well, just hit 40 and working towards 41. I am noticing more though on the newer duties I am not as "free" to dps like I was. That is OK though I am here to heal, no kill...for now.

    UPDATE!!

Just dinged 46 last night. All class quests up to date. On track for that Master Conjurer's Ring. It will get quickly replaced with a myth piece for sure but I'm a collector.

This healing gig is pretty fun and not as bad as I thought it would be. Enjoying my heals ride for sure.

Question, should I worry at all about CT gear or go straight myth? Fill out CT spots till I get myth? I also have some pieces of Allagan from previous farms. I'm almost there lol, then I get to do the relic runz!! **can't wait**

Know the feels, I've been dps in all the mmos I have played, even during ARR launch. Now that I decided to return I chose to try out healing this time. I'm loving it, it is really fun...can't wait to become whm.

It's a lot of fun, that's for sure. and holy in dungeons like brayflox is pretty OP: aoe dps almost as good as a black mage . For single target healing and dps'ing though, you might wanna give SCH a shot. In T8 last night my sch friend was adding around 120 dps to the boss for a lot of the time. I think he ended with a total of ... what did they say it was... maybe 90-100 dps? Very helpful. Once in T6 and T7, we had DPS races so it was kinda like chicken on who was going to have to heal the tank at any given moment hahaha.
