The only way to have massive(72 i guess you could call massive) pvp active in a MMO is to have it accessible to everyone off the bat, not to restrict it behind a grind that's super punishing to new people..
I don't know where's all this "QQ can't pwn noobs with my gear" is coming from, i find this lvl sync to be one of the best things they could do to revive the nearly dead pvp in this game and chill they're definitely going to make it matter again at some point , think of this as a PvP promotional strategy, this coming from me who has i94 pvp gear set btw...

Wolves Den is only really barren because of the ridiculous grind...

If people want to seriously do Frontlines, they'll grind through the ranks to access it. If that grind isn't ridiculous like it currently is, anyway.

Because progression provides a purpose? Yes, fun is a purpose, but it isn't a purpose that keeps people doing the same thing over and over. Progression gives people a reason to keep coming back to Frontlines, rather than just popping in whenever they're bored. Having a reason to keep coming back to the content is how you keep it alive.

It's the same fault Wolves Den had, actually. Wolves Den had progression of course, but it was so ridiculously steep that people simply dismissed it. That is a large part as to why Wolves Den failed, and rather than learning from that mistake, they're just throwing Frontlines under the bus...

Sadly, not all of us have such faith in our magic hope crystal ball, especially when it proved so inept when it came to Frontlines in the first place. Still, at least whatever they add next for PvP wont have three years of hype behind it, so there's that...

I completely agree. It's a great marketing strategy for PvP in this game to get new players interested, and YES, they're going to make improvements to PvP as a whole in the future.

I have been way too excited for Frontlines for a long long long time. Pretty much since they said it would come. I enjoyed wolves den too. but now after all this time waiting, we finally get it, and our pvp gear doesn't matter. So why do I want to wait another 6 months or a year for my gear to matter? It's kind of like saying "Oh yeah the new coil 3, you can't use any of your new gear and will be synced to ilvl80. We may update this in the future, but first we want new players to experience the new coil 3 at the same time as the dedicated players. In the future, instead of echo we will just lift the ilvl restriction, so you can go back and play old content with your gear that you earned. You will gain sold tomes, but there will be no new gear drops in coil 3"

They wouldn't do this because (repeating myself once again) it's a pve oriented game.

Maybe you should get your priorities checked out in this game or move on to another game to fulfill your passion.

Yeah it sucks that you'd have to wait a bit longer before your gear matters in more aspects than glamours and Wolf's Den, but that's just the way it is for now.

Maybe that's why it's a huge grind to get to R40 and full sets of ilvl 100 PvP gear. Maybe that's why it's supposed to take months to reach that. Who knows.

There's been one person, maybe two people, who feel that way but the above quote is mostly a strawman. The majority here complaining about the gear aren't complaining because they can't pwn noobs - they're complaining because without morale the gear they worked for is less effective than the PvE counterparts. And I completely understand that. My item level is 76 so I'm just getting started with PvP gear, but that doesn't mean I think the people who have more stake in this than I should get the shaft.
