2.3 Frontline What do we know?

All the rank 40 pvpers come in as a brigade and start raiding ppl. A massacre ensues and everyone dies. Since it's open world there would probably be no restrictions.
So no Q30 Q40 Q50s.
If new players get mixed in with the experienced and the win traders then of course frontlines will die before 1 month mark. So in a way, open world pvp would be a terrible idea.

until win trade exploitation ends or get dealt with, an open world frontlines will just die...fast.

Please stop crying about wintrading because as far as Frontlines is concerned, its a dead argument. By the time Frontlines comes out, alot of people will be r40 by then whether they wintraded or not. Even now there are r40s who did not wintrade at all. Furthermore, we are all getting split up due to being on different GC's. So if you die by r40s its because you legitimately lost and has nothing to do with wintraders.

Anyway wintraders are useless they die faster than i70 player ...

PS : I hope i can be R40 before 2.3, but without wintrading its way too hard ^^, doing around 50hour pvp per week, and no more than 100 game per week ... still got around 75% win but i'm still @ 1k xp from level 35. Chaos datacenter is totally dead, like 80% of R30+ are wintraders, and there is NO LEGIT R40 on this datacenter yet, i know someone playing more than 12hour a day most of the time and he is still not R37 with 75-80% ratio win.

Really?If it's a open world pvp, one fight will not win a war. Especially if it's objection based. And you automatically assume all rank 40's are all in one grand company... And there's no way in hell anybody would go through another rank 40 grind just to change grand companies LOL, win trading or not.. You'd have to be a hardcore masochist to wanna do that grind again...

The crying about win trading is starting to get stupidly ridiculous now... People are starting to come with these crazy ideas that all rank 40s will band together to form the ultimate group to annihilate everyone... We have GC's chill, that shit won't happen, and we don't even know HOW frontlines will work, it's been so Top Secret. we will finally get some info on it tomrrow

Only thing I think (not 100% on it) we really got was that the Frontlines zone will be the Carteneau Flats, where the events of the End of an Era trailer took place. Its Calamity ravaged look is shown in the start of the new trailer too, I think, which did show a lot of players on chocobos with Limsa Bardings (Team Maelstrom), heading towards a large piece of Dalamud wreckage. As well as a group of players standing around a group of dead players/NPCs, which could certainly indicate PvP.

Again, I'm not 100% on that, and even if I was, I wouldn't take the trailer at face value, but it certainly looks like it'll be a large, open world zone for PvP.

If that's the only objective, I'd be somewhat disappointed, but it'll still be a great addition to PvP. If there are multiple places like this... Thank you Yoshida! Either way, it's bigger than just 8v8v8 based on that picture.

Only thing I'd note here, is that the newbs seem to be in PvP gear, a mix of i55 and i70 and i90 if I'm not mistaken, while the winners are in Allagan gear. Far off in the distance I can also make out a tower that looks familiar, not sure if it is from that last sneak peak they gave us of Frontlines, where they showed a GC camp, or not. If it is, that certainly confirms its Frontlines.

OK, found the images they've showed us before;

Now, that tower looks very similar to this;

The landscape and structures look very similar to me, getting damned excited now!

lol i give up arguing about wintraders y.. cause they thinking gear going carry them in frontlines HELLLLL NO i've have face a few wintraders in pvp past weeks and they just terrible. No sense of what the hell to do and they get stompped on. If by some miracle wintraders get rolled back and have their gear taken away cause some just do it for the vanity i will LMAO but i doubt that will happen. Some how i think and i was discussing this with a few other pvpers i play with frontlines will have a ranking system for your team, y add a whole new tab just for frontlines :P. I just cant wait to roflstomp newbs and wintraders in frontlines

Anywayyyyssss before the thread got ninjad by wintrader whiners, ... back on topic "Thread: 2.3 Frontline What do we know?" ... thanks Nalien for the pics, looks exciting. Yeah that's what I got from the SE stream too but they said Carteneau Plains. I thought he said "Cardinal" but Cardinal and Cartenaeu sound alike since he was talking to so fast. And he said Plains rather than Flats but I'm pretty sure that's just about the same thing. But ya too much stuff is pointing to the Carteneau zone for it not to be where Frontlines is gonna be and an open zone (hopefully). I really like capture the flag and deathmatches so I'm hoping (fingers crossed) they add both of those too.

Yeah, wow great finding there, Nalien Good eyes there. Those last picture kinda giving me feeling of Northern Thanlan for some reason haha. Hopefully we get any more info about it from E3 tomorrow.

Interesting about part of where it said @ Not strictly to be 8v8v8.

Carteneau is in that region, it's between Thanalan and Mor Dhona. If you look at the overview map of Thanalan, Mor Dhona is marked on it with Carteneu Flats directly under it, it should be just north of Cape Westwind.
