Not to mention that it is planned to allow all three rows of the skill bar to be displayed at once. So no up and down transition animations when selecting skillsNo, having to navigate through a menu everytime I want to use a skill bogs battle down. I also can't customize it (I, for example, have Bar 1 as offense magic, Bar 2 as healing/buffs, and Bar 3 as different DoL skills).
And I don't have to go into active mode to bring it up (you can just press 1-0 and it brings up the action bar).
I wouldn't mind it as an alternative, but I want to keep by action bar.
There was one positive thing about Failhammer, you could choose how many action bars appeared on screen at once (up to 4) and could hotkey them all.
FFXII battle system, something like that. That was greatly playable, much more than FFXIV.
Pity they didnt went with something like (FFXII ofr example) from start. First FF game with completely revamped battle system.
Client-sided UI. Multiple-bars always on screen. Decent hotkeys (modifiers, letters). No confirmation for the heals (we don't need one, simply heal the freaking target!).
I like the heal confirmation though. I can keep target-locked on the mob to watch my Enmity and then see if my heal totally screwed my enmity (since the heal targeting only switches targets for the heal).

I really don't like our current UI in general (although to be honest, I do quite like the new look they've given the action bar). The design is really inconsistent, with the overall menu looking totally different to everything else. I think the blue colour they've used for the menus themselves is a bit gross, and they're just generally clunky and unappealing to look at.
Why have we gone from FFXIII which had an absolutely gorgeous menu system and really slick UI to something that's actually worse than FFXI?
I hope they have plans to totally redo it, not just upgrade the current one (they seriously need to sort out the lag issues too, I'm not prepared to pay for a game with the amount of delay between actions this one has) and make it much more client-based.
I like it, don't insert your opinion as fact. I like it a lot more than the FFXIII UI as well. Maybe if you can provide a mock-up of what you want the UI to look like you can sway my opinion, but if you want something more like FFXIII or FFXI....no. Hated both of those with a fiery passion.

First standard options, common to every mainstream 2011 MMO.
We need system the average MMO player is able to use before trying more niche things.
