I think world mobs should instead enrage and charge/stun you, then dismount you.
The heavy effect is more annoying than anything. It really doesn't penalize you in a threatening way, just an annoying way.


Why is it always one extreme or another in this place? Dailies areas aren't supposed to have deadly mobs in the first place, at least IMO. I wouldn't mind deadly mobs at areas like the Fog Fens or the outskirts of Mor Dhona, this issue here is with the debuff itself. and you see, you idea of diminishing returns would make it 10 times less annoying.
The dailies areas have mainly mobs which are under 50, and shouldn't be aggroing us at 50 with high ilvls in the first place anyway. I actually grew into the habit of gathering as many mobs as my WHM can handle and holy the hell out of them. Saves me and people around me tons of annoyance.
I'm no game designer, but I know that applying a heavy debuff isn't exactly the best idea of introducing challenge and immersion into an area.
Yes. You are absolutely right. Heavy still does not make me get off my mount to kill the mob. But again, no one here is suggesting instant death as the alternative as you have stated. Other posters have indicated interesting alternatives to make it challenging without instantly jumping to the extreme of the alternative being instant death, which no one would suggest or want.
It doesn't matter what they add. A person like you (who tries to skip them) will ignore them until they pose a threat to you. What you want are easier ways to avoid them. I'm sure if these mobs dealt 10x damage while you are mounted you would get off rather than being sniped by an archer from a mile away (which is realistic, since you are trespassing on heavily guarded territory, riding on a chicken).Yes. You really should not be punished for riding your mount.
Whenever I enter a beastman stronghold, I get off my mount because I'm just gonna get heavy'ed constantly.
Yes. Please make it kill the players instead.
The heavy mechanic happens only when you are mounted. If you run past the same mobs on foot, you won't get heavy. It's a percent chance when mounted.
I absolutely think this is the dumbest thing in this entire game and it should just be taken out. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense, as all it amounts to is an inconvenience to players. Forcing them to slow down or get off their mount. What good does that even do? Makes us waste time, that's what. We we have enough timesinks in the game already without this one too.
I agree, it is really annoying and we just choose to ignore the mobs anyway. The only reason to even concider mounting off would be if there's an NPC to talk to or a specific mob to kill.
