Please Make Players Immune To Heavy When Mounted

While I can understand enemies inflicting heavy on characters during battle, I cannot fathom the purpose of having enemies inflict heavy on mounted characters. Getting hit by heavy while traveling from one point to another is annoying and a waste of a player's time. It gets especially annoying when one gets hit by multiple instances of heavy (which refreshes the debuff timer) while moving through an area. I do not see how this adds value to the game.

Please consider making players immune to heavy while mounted.

No it's one of the ways they can make you have to pay attention to the world. I'd also be for buffing mob movement speed.

Not going to happen. The debuff can only be applied when using the mount command. It does not come into play when riding one of the chocobo's you get from the Chocobo Porters, as those are untargetable by Enemies. The thing you have to realize is that this is working as intended. The Developers want you to get off your chocobo/mount and kill the mob when you get targeted by them. That was the entire reason they installed the feature to allow you to activate your mount while your companion is out.

EDIT: Kerberon, your sig is freaking me out. The Angels are still the only thing that gives me nightmares when I watch Doctor Who.

Heavy is SE's failed way of making us feel that there is a challenge in the oudoors. Its obviously simply an annoyance which I deal with by standing until heavy is gone and then go my way. I don't even bother esuna-ing it anymore.

Would you prefer being outright killed in a game with no Reraise? Or having to dismount and kill the enemy for every single one you aggro? Do you really think the majority of people are going to prefer the annoyance of dying while trying to do dailies, to getting hit with heavy?

Only thing I'd wish they'd do is give the Heavy effect while mounted diminishing returns.... Heavy is about to wear off, you get hit with it again for the full duration... Seriously, that's the only aspect of it that annoys me. I actually quite like it otherwise, it's enough of a annoyance that I'll attempt to avoid aggro completely, but not so punishing that it becomes too annoying.

Having a chance to be hit with heavy when mounted was put there intentionally.

Same as the chance to be dazed+dismounted when taking a hit while mounted in WoW.

Same as auto-dismount when hit in TERA.

Same as the chance to auto dismount your space scooter (technically it blew up, and you were knocked down leaving you open to a classic stomping-out as if you were green lantern fighting darksied in JL: war) when hit in SWtOR.

Don't even bother asking for that. It has been a thing in mmos for nearly 10 years.

It's so mobs can continue to be some sort of threat to the player instead of magically skipping by everything in the world because you're on horse-bird-scooter-bipedalmecha-back.

You are aware that you don't get heavied if you aren't mounted right? This was an intention obviously. But if you prefer instant death while mounted, then maybe SE will add that since you believe heavy doesn't add a challenge and it still doesn't make you attack mobs (that you are trying to skip).

It was actually in 1.0 too, but then it made sense as it was actually not heavy you were hit with, but an equivalent status called 'Lamed', as in, your chocobo was injured by the attack and would only move slowly (dismounting canceled the effect). Presumably due to the wider variety of mounts in 1.0, including mechanical ones (ala, magitek armour, the bomb palanquin), SE must have thought it wouldn't make sense any more calling it 'lamed' and so just changed it to the generic heavy. But yes, it has a reason to give a reason to actually be careful when running through the world on a mount.

Except, no one here is suggesting instant death as an alternative. Because you know, that obviously wouldn't make any sense.

I see. Dismounting to cancel the effect is fair.
