Can there be a server merge?

Most servers doesn't have much endgamers, I was thinking is possible if we will have a server merge?
I notice not alot of people I would do a server change but all my gil will be lost cept for 1mil. Been saving up to get craft things for the books. :\.

According to the Lodestone (Which of course isn't 100% accurate by any means), the vast majority of the NA servers have 25k+ people on them. That's hardly an issue with population, and it would cause a ton of problems due to the increased stress. Maybe if very few people are doing endgame, it's a problem with endgame.

Zalera would be one of the instances of that site not being accurate. A quick check on the lodestone will show you >1,000 for Zalera, I'll be honest, I'm too lazy to scrap the exact number for that server myself, but just changing a few options shows they're over 10k.

Not sure why certain servers are so vastly understated on that site when others seems to be so accurate (Excalibur has pretty much been within a 5% margin everytime I've double checked it)

@Lithera, he used the lodestone data-scraping site, xivsoul linked earlier in this thread, I'm sure. He just neglected to check it for it's accuracy. As a tip, OP, if something seems to be a large outlier, it's generally a good idea to see if the data set is erroneous.

I don't know if they would look at merging servers at this time.

Even with your gil situation in mind though, if you're interested doing a server transfer, I'd happily welcome a fellow crafter to Hyperion ^^

the biggest issue with server merges. player names/free companies with the same names. who gets to keep them?

When a Merge is performed, the incoming people will get an opportunity to change names if they have a same name.
If FCs work like LSs did in FFXI mergers, they would be broken and the groups would reform them upon merge.

xvisoul is still updating, but last time it updated Zalera had around 10k people.

I highly doubt they will merge servers when they set up DF as cross server for this reason, much less when you consider they profit from server transfers.

the biggest issue with server merges. player names/free companies with the same names. who gets to keep them? housing i guess is just fixed by putting 1 servers full set of housing in new wards so none overlap. but anyways, the game is still new. too early for merging imo.
