Maybe they will change their looks in the future.
Like when you get higher ilevel and game progresses they upgrade them and give them new skins.
You never know.

I like how the Summons look. Spur should make them grow maybe 50% bigger for the duration, and the Summoner LB should involve your egi growing nearly full sized before doing some iconic looking copy of Meteor. Appearance wise that's about all they need.
There are some other tweaks that would be nice, but that's a different thread.
In another game i'd occasionally do dungeon runs with teams of eight pet class players. Which translated to each player bossing around six pets, the final pet being a boss type who was frequently a good two and a half meters or so tall. That's 56 critters (not counting temporary summons that some sets had) running all over the place just on the players' side and it still worked. Somehow i don't see one player character sized pet as being that much harder to accommodate.

They also require a massive amount of Aether, which is bad. If they consume too much Aether, then Hydaelyn will die (this is why the Ascians taught the Beastmen how to summon their Primal)... or Eorzea will "disappear," either one.
well the problem is...your example is using Lore that doesn't exist. because like I said, they mentioned it before release and haven't mentioned it since then ( I think they're actually hoping will forget they said it)...so how about using a Lore Contradiction that actually exists in game
EDIT: the Point of my post is to Point out the contradictions in this game, and the fact that you can't use LORE as an argument for anything in this game, anymore. Cause SE will change it regardless of the lore, and that it why they CAN change whatever they feel like changing; like making egis more impressive.

personally I think making the Egi's that big would be a mistake. however I would like them to have a more threatening feel to them like Levi does in that pic
maybe slightly bigger than the current Egi's but not much and most definitely a more threatening stature(I think this is the right word for it...lol)
my only gripe with the EGI's is really that they feel stiff and lifeless and barely look threatening at all.

I absolutely rolled off my bed laughing at this thanks for that! XD
Oh, I agree with ya. I don't think they should be THAT big either (something like that would be like having a behemoth mount in a boss arena), but they need to look as menacing as the primals they represent.personally I think making the Egi's that big would be a mistake. however I would like them to have a more threatening feel to them like Levi does in that pic
