Question: What is Dragoon best at ?

Just look at the ilvl of Juste Belmont when hes on his summoner. Carmen is takin all the mines minus the far away ones (these are for me), and Juste definitely break 600 dps on burst with doubled foe and as I said I still didnt see a single dragoon doin that at the same Ilvl. breaking 500+ is defo possible at ilvl95 tho.

In the end am just sayin. Don't believe that dragoon is the highest at burstin down shit because it's not the case when we got to battle with summoners in some conditions (that doubled foe bro, who cares about the job itself). If these aren't met then yes, we do have the upper hand. We re extremely versatile and profitable to a bard, on top of havin good and high sustained dps. Thats where we really shine. We re the best at beein that really good jack of all trades !

Yeah, but summoner can only really burst really high once every 5 minutes. Black Mage and Dragoon still beats a Summoner in burst damage when needed.

In SOME conditions... Meaning you have double foes? Of all the raid groups in this game, I highly doubt that is a majority of the 'conditions' that exist. If you look at it as all things being equal (which you should of from the beginning) drgs have the best burst hands down... Or it could also be that your raid group just has a bad drg

Oh I'll happily show you how to dps with a dragoon if you want. And yes im so bad that it actually happen that im one of the 4 dragoons total on the server who contributed to a t9 kill :/

But back on the requiem matter, again, things aren't equal. Doesnt matter if its doubled or not you ll constantly be raped by a summoner that only got to land 3 dots + shadowflare before unleashin hell, while we got to compose for 22.5 seconds straight to have our burst completed.

If people still can't get it i honestly dont know what to say anymore. Just poke Juste on Exodus and he ll show you I guess

Congrats on the recent T9 kill. Our FC has one static on farm and the other static on Divebombs.

I'd be interested to see Juste's burst. I'm in exodus, so next time I see Juste I'll ask and maybe make a friendly wager

So you still didnt break 600 right ? Im in your zone too. And still didn't see in any group be it in pug or in raid with my FC a single dragoon breaking it at the same relatively low Ilvl. You wont do it.

I must confess...I do not consider myself as a top DPS with my SMN only on ilvl83 and me levelling my BRD to 50 recently (yesterday) with an ilvl62.

In order to increase my damage for BRD I need to level my LNC...and I am nervous about this.

I have come across a lot of DRG in PUG across all types of runs and dungeons (nm and hm) that seem to be exceptionally squishy.
Hydra - dragoon died 3 times, I stopped raising him after the 2nd time, wasting a SC and Raise.
Cutters Cry - dragoon died twice in about 5 minutes at the Chimera boss.
Titan HM - dragoon died about 3 or 4 times to the point where the healers refused to raise her and she was getting flack from the rest of the party.

So...how can I be less squishy without sacrificing STR?

Dodge AoEs... Melee range is actually pretty spacious. If you learn to stay at max melee distance you will have more than enough time to dodge any and every AoE the game throws at you.
