wow, thanks for making the ff14 community look like condescending brats.

Na it's just when you hear one person complain and saying they going back to ffxi you hear them all. If i remember right ffxi right now is like what? 100% lame? everything can be due or solo the new endgame give you super buff which most people can solo some NM and you can get 35-90 in what? 1day i hear? so ya i stay in ffxiv where it take me more then 1day to hit max level.

i say find a linkshell or quit to this game get better.

If you in selbina i help you do dungeon but am only 36 becuase i reroll from a 44pug. I be doing 25 rank dungeon next month but i have to wait for my gf to get her mobo then i be doing dungeon.

Selbina may have lot's of jp but right now it have the most players but then again the party size is 4/8 so having 100+members in a linkshell is really pointless.

I had hoped this update would be awesome, but it isn't shaping up to be anything like that. I'm disappointed that group-only content was added and the community quickly expresses their latent exclusiveness held over from FFXI. Nobody does anything outside their LS, or invites anybody outside their LS, and nobody has any openly recruiting linkshells, so anybody in a small LS or completely without one is screwed out of content and the ability to continue through the Grand Companies line of quests.

Worst of all, is that I can't even seek. I have to repeatedly shout, which I'm sure annoys everybody.

I can't imagine how this game will ever pull off a grand re-opening with this cold-shoulder culture.

I never understand statements like this. Why is it one or the other? One game is pay to play, the other is completely free (after software purchase). I play both. I have 8 level 90 jobs on my main character, several full sets of Empyrean +2 armor, and a level 85 Almace. FFXI is a great game and I still love it.

I play FFXIV for a change of pace though, and for what it offers it's a lot of fun. It's still free to play though, and aside from mechanics changes from this update, it's still pretty much the same game it was during open beta, so expecting too much from it at this point is pretty derp. This game is probably going to take another half year~ of updates to finally be in a playable state, such that SE can finally start charging for it. In the meantime a lot will be changed.

Also, people act like any changes implemented are set in stone. Think of it as a pendulum. SE's goal is to keep things more or less centered. If the pendulum swings too far in one direction (unlimited cures, overpowered ARC), they may push the pendulum all the way to the other side to see its polar opposite. Eventually things will center themselves so that gameplay is balanced. Or so we hope at least.

If you want to enjoy the game you most join a casual linkshell. Most hard core linkshell you would pretty much be there for noting because you have the less point in the ls and wont get anything.

Doesn't mean it won't happen. I mean just consider the facts. This game is bleeding money. In less than a year the cost of the game has gone from $50 down to $15, it doesn't have a monthly fee, and people are still bailing. The market is highly competitive, with a number of big players with launches lined up in the near future. Finally, most players are only going to pay for 1 game, so you really need a product that is (to a large number of players) better than the other guys'. I just don't really see how it can last for very long.
