People like this are ruining FFXIV, all they care about is their character and their LS, with people like this, casual gamers like me will never be able to enjoy party-based new content.
Anyway, i understand your feelings op. i'm disappointed too.

If you want to enjoy the game you most join a casual linkshell. Most hard core linkshell you would pretty much be there for noting because you have the less point in the ls and wont get anything.

Um, the content is brand new and nobody has done it yet.
You expect people to bother with pick-up groups right off the bat? LSs have been planning for this night for months.
Sorry you aren't outgoing enough to look for a decent LS. SE can't help you there, unfortunately.

Actually, given that SE designed the game and many of the lackluster systems it uses, they could directly 'help him there.' Besides, if people don't start wanting to play, then the game is going to die. ... Then again, with ToR and BLizzards next MMO on the horizon, it might just be to late anyways. SE might be able to recover their sunk costs, I guess... but I have a hard time seeing this becoming profitable. =(

Doesn't mean it won't happen. I mean just consider the facts. This game is bleeding money. In less than a year the cost of the game has gone from $50 down to $15, it doesn't have a monthly fee, and people are still bailing. The market is highly competitive, with a number of big players with launches lined up in the near future. Finally, most players are only going to pay for 1 game, so you really need a product that is (to a large number of players) better than the other guys'. I just don't really see how it can last for very long.

in September, people said that the game was going to die soon. In November, same thing. Turn of the year, same thing. April, same freaking thing. Now? Same thing. It hasn't happened yet and I don't think it will happen anytime soon. Today's patch brought back a TON of people and I actually had 3 friends re-join the game since all they needed was Auto attack and a decent amount of content. They got what they wanted. The others are waiting on more FF-ish content (Chocobos, airships and jobs) I don't see the game losing players at all compared to how many it is gaining.Doesn't mean it won't happen. Healer strike is ridiculously foolish and accomplishes nothing
You have to spend money to make money. The game isn't "bleeding money". SE has invested money in it in the hopes it will eventually turn a profit. Whether or not that happens remains to be seen.
Which is why there were login queues on several servers tonight. All those people bailing out were clogging the tubes, I suppose.
Because it's Final Fantasy, and Final Fantasy fans would rather play a good Final Fantasy game than a great Star Wars game. I believe there are enough of them that SE can turn it around. The groundwork this patch has laid has made me cautiously optimistic. The market is highly competitive, with a number of big players with launches lined up in the near future. 1. SW: ToR will suck, hands down. Because 1) Bioware sucks, hands down. 2) Lucas Arts sucks, hands down. Not sure why you would even mention a Star Wars title. Blizzard's next MMO? The one not a shred of information has been released for? With an anticipated release date of Holiday 2013? If XIV is going to die it's going to be a hell of a lot sooner than 2 years from now... Thanks for your opinion though. Keep the updates rollin' SE!Actually, given that SE designed the game and many of the lackluster systems it uses, they could directly 'help him there.'
