    Do I need an Animus to be able to recieve Alexandrite

    The title says it all. Even though I haven't completed my books yet can I go ahead and start farming for alexandrite? That would make it more efficient for me but I am assuming that you can't. I am sorry if this was already discussed in the threads for the Novus weapon but search function didnt return any results.

    You need to have an Animus equipped to get alexandrite from FATEs.

    Nope, none of the current ways can be done without an Animus.
