Now that we have fantastia are our Guardian deity choices going to get a little love?

We pick them during character creation along with our character's birthday. As I understand it, our Guardian is kind of like our astrological sign except it isn't tied to the day we were born.

I've heard rumors that they are going to be important in the future. Is that soon since fantasia was rolled out (IE people could change them if there was one they wanted more)? Has anyone heard anything on any of the dev interviews out there?

I don't suppose that what your Guardian would offer will be any kind of actual combat boost. That is just my guess though, or every dps will have "the destroyer" as theirs and that wouldn't really be a choice as it would be a requirement if you consider yourself really in to doing your role. If not a requirement, it still would be tempting and there would be quite a few Guardians that get no love (or followers).

So what do you all think it will grant you (if anything)? Maybe it might give you some vanity costume piece? A hat maybe, or possibly a different article of clothing depending on what it is? Kind of like belief in certain religions means that you might wear something to show your support or even if you aren't religious, if you like sports you might wear a jersey for your team...etc I can't really imagine what else you could get.... Maybe some specific story content to do? But that would require lots of dev effort and I think we'd all rather them work on stuff that we will all get to see and not just private content that particular Guardian's followers get to see....dunno

What I hope it's not is some kind of glowy aura or something. My reasoning for that is it's really distracting and it's already overdone in other games. Also a title would be unpleasant as it would mean that if there was a kind of amusing title that a particular deity had then many people would be tempted to have it and again, same deal with many Guardians getting no attention.

I have Rhalgr as mine because I think it was the closest resemblance to my birth month, but that was awhile ago and I don't remember. I did hear that they were going to be made more relevant though.

LOL, this made me laugh in real life. But I think you are on to something there. Some kind of rivalry or something would be really amusing.
To do increased damaged to your deity's enemies in PvP? I'd lol....

In 1.0's original launch your chosen Guardian did in fact have an effect in battle in that when you initiated a guildleve you could choose to evoke your 'Guardian's Blessing' which was basically a short term buff that lasted while you were undertaking the leve (it lasted for about ten minutes if I remember rightly). I didn't particularly take much notice as to exactly what it did, as you couldn't evoke it every time you did a leve (it had a cooldown of once every three hours if I remember rightly). But it was still fun nonetheless.

It was eventually removed in a patch though sadly towards the end of 1.0's service and replaced with the '/pray' emote, but it wasn't the same. So hopefully SE will bring it back in some way, as it was something in 1.0 I really liked.

iirc it boosted the amount of xp from the leve. Its just like people forget we basically had fates in 1.0 also, remember the battlewarden fights.
