Pre-paid debit cards are your friend then. Just put the money you want to spend on your sub on the card to load it. I googled it and came up with a ton of results. I don't know where everyone lives country wise but near me you can buy and load them at the Seven Eleven around the corner.

The point is we shouldn't have to jump through hoops to pay for a service. If you make it difficult to pay...consumers aren't going to pay.. They're going to find another game that lets them pay with the option they want. In any case, for those old enough to get a CC you can just get an online CC and ask for a very low limit and just use it to pay for XIV and any other game costs like Xbox LIVE. Risk is fairly minimal as even if someone snagged your info they could only screw you up to your limit.

some people dont trust putting their CC info out there. some people are on fixed budgets. some people arent even old enough to have a bank account. these people all still have a right play and SE should have at least acknowledged this was going to happen.

I've been using services like UGC for a while because instances like this have been happening with SE's methods since FFXI, and it seems they still do. Being a legacy member, SE's time cards aren't a good option either because it supersedes the discount, this method also wouldn't work for people that pay an additional fee for extra retainers.
