DRG Gae Bolg Novus's stats choices

After all those informations about the new relic step, i was wondering what secondary stats are you all aiming for upgrading the Gae Bolg Novus

ATM if you take the correct stats you could get some good benefits (could surpass Liberator 110 dps?)

Untill yesterday , i were aiming to a 31 DET/44 CRIT build, but then i saw this img and things started to change

You can even put 3x stats on the weapon, and this may result to lower the chance to fail melding. On grade 4 meld may get to 60% chance to fail and you loose materia.
Meanwhile if you start to increase a 3rd stats with grade 1 materia , you can finish the Scroll with less failing

Would a 31 DET/ 23 CRIT / 21 ACC be good? DET/CRIT/Speed if you are ACC capped?

Hah, Skill Speed. Everything else before Skill Speed, unless you're decked out in skill speed gear...even then, it's not worth it really.

I dislike Skill Speed aswell. Not worth it
I'm more orientated on DET/CRIT/ACC build for my Novus

Unless you overmeld 90 crafted stuff, some of the DRG Soldiery gear is already overflowed with SS atm, but this is another kind of thread

Since we have the Astrum Mail who gives a ton of ACC, I'll probably be going for 31 DET / 44 CRIT.

Or not bother using tier iv materia and save a TON of gil. Then go something like: 22/23 det / 33 crit / 19/20 acc. This opens up more choices on gear dependant on which HA drops you get. Im currently going by the 515 accuracy for darnus because missing when stacked in last phase sucks so it should help until get HA spear

I was originally going to go DET/Crit but then I started to think about the next tier of content. At the moment, we have Liberator which offers 14.982 stat weight in secondaries, and we also have High Allagan, which offers 16.960 in secondary weight. Both are great weapons (Allagan obv better) in a pure DPS point of view compared to Relic, but the trade off is that neither weapon has Accuracy. While not immediately useful, having a weapon with 51 Weapon Damage and accuracy may help in later content. This may sound shaky, because the High Allagan's 53 Damage will trump anything else, but if we get an upgrade to Novus to push it to 53 Damage, and having Accuracy, then it may just be the better choice in any future content with higher accuracy requirements. If the pattern of Animus and Second Coil continues in Third Coil, then we can expect our upgraded Novus to be on-par with entry level coil-token weapons, which would be a huge boon in getting to them in the first place.

I'm also not so sure we will be able to alter the stats on our weapons in the next couple tiers of Relic. In this patch, we can obviously customize our stats, but it has been stated already in patch notes that the ability to select a different Sphere Scroll will come at a later date. This would allude that this tier of Relic is where we lock-in the base customization options, and that future tiers would see either additional stats or bonuses. But then again, I could be wrong on this.

Having more accuracy for next tier cycle would be indeed a good choice. You always loose some ACC when you get new tier equipment
This is one of the reasons i'll put a bit of ACC into my Novus. Not going DET/ACC, more like DET/CRIT/ACC

I just wanna clear something out, I see a lot of people talking about it and I may taking it wrong. I'm talking about new content...
as we know, the new content gonna be Ramoh and on the far future, Shiva.
now each patch is 3 months, and 2.3 gonna hit the next month, and it'll not have any new coils, means the only new coils will be at least on 2.4, which is 4 months from now... now 4 months is A LOT of time. enough time to get the HA weapon, and I don't think anyone will prefer Novus over the HA.

please correct me if my way of thinking is wrong, and I have a feeling that it does.

Nope, you're right. I think they're planning the next upgrade already => Once it'll be 120 or 130 or anything, what would be the best stats?

Considering there's still a lot of unknown about the next tier, concerning the accuracy we'll have, need, want, and we don't know how the next Relic upgrade will be, i'll just focus on Det/Crit. After all, it'd be the same if I had HA Spear, and the current gear we have is already full of accuracy everywhere. I'm not too scared about it.
