    This is getting ridiculous!

I've now completed 400 fates in Eastern Thanalan alone and NOT A SINGLE ATMA DROP IN SIGHT!
If we do the math on this ..
10% Drop rate would mean 1/10 drop
In other words I should've gotten it within 90 fates at least.
400 and no drop .. That means the drop rate is below 0.25% This is absurd!

I am well aware that it's random but setting a random percentage this low is absurd. They want us to keep playing but this is getting out of hand. 400+ fates during the course of 5 days is too much.

I had similar problem when I first started Atma hunting, but then I tried a different tactic....

Do fates in 1 area for no more than 30 mins (fyi, you dont have to be there for the whole fate or be there at the end of it to get an atma drop), and if I didnt get any drop I would move on to the next area.

Needless to say I thought my luck had changed as I managed to get my first full set of atma in just over 10hrs of gameplay (I did 4hrs first day and 4hrs 2nd day and 2hrs 3rd day). I didn't count how many fates I participated in, but this tactic worked for me and many other player friends I know who now do the same. It's not a guarantee in anyway, but for some reason you seem to get a better drop chance rate within the first 30 mins of being in a zone. Just rinse and repeat until you're on your last atma.

I can only suggest you give this a try and you never know

    cont...

fyi I got my full first set of atma within 3 days after starting the new tactic, and I am now currently working on my 7th set (now that I have all my jobs to 50 and able to do the atma mission), and I can pretty much get at least 4 atma every day without staying in one area for more than 30 mins at a time (btw I do between 4-6hrs or 4 atma a day which ever comes first).

Oh and I don't follow any zone pattern when I did/do them, but I have noticed that I always seem to go back to Southern Thananlan more often than the other zones lol.

Either way, I wish you all the best and GL on your atma hunting.

Took me forever to get my first in central thanalan, 20ish hrs of farming I believe. Tried the server time thing, was a bust, tried just pounding out a zone til I got em, took forever most the time, the I limited myself to 1 hr of farming per zone, if I didn't get it, I moved to the next. Whichever zone tickled my fancy at the time.

I am now on my 3rd set.

Not sure if there is a burn out in a zone or what but it seems to be more affective if you don't stay in one place too long.

It actually took me around 400 fates to get my first Atma. It sucks and it's a pain.

Thanks for the tips people. I really like to finish one area at a time .. So Thanalan was my first area to finish. But I guess I can try out the switch every hour and see how it goes.

Mix it up, rotate the places.

Always make sure you are using zenith and aim to get gold but dont spend the whole time at the fate.

Turn in 7-8 items, tags 9 mobs then leave and move to the next.
