Yeah Storm, that was my map :P (ty for the help btw).Helped someone with a map. Got the Coincounter type mob and he had a bunch of adds. I think it would take considerable skill for some classes to solo him. The adds do not go down instantly and one person got hit by one of the swipes and lost at least 2k.
It felt more two man for sure. Or super great dps before the adds could get you.
Yeah, it was a cyclops and spawned two large groups of peapuks.

I did bring a friend we were both Monk's and we used our chocos ...and we both died >.<
At least I now know the bombs aren't stationary like on the second boss of Copperbell HM xD

It's incredibly stupid that you should just lose your map upon death without having a chance to redo it. As if this quest wasn't grindy enough already. I think SE are trying to lose as many subscribers as possible with the 2.2 patches.

I wish SE would just give you alexandrites for logging into the game. Anything else is too hard.
This is what happens when you screw up the relic quest by making the first part (atma) doable by spamming a single key and turn the second part into nothing but a time sink with zero attention requirements, let alone skill. When you go ahead and add something that can actually kill you, even as easy as it could be to overcome, you get people complaining about it.

I ended up getting the golem one with the bombs today on my pld I had 0 problems soloing it as soon as the bombs spawn you just focus them down and kill them to take less damage before they blow up. I had maybe 1 each from each group alive(blow up on me) it doesn't hit that hard if you want to play it safe just pop a def CD. Im more worried killing the mobs in the time limit then the actual map mobs themselves. I feel like the devs wanted people to actually pay attention to the mechanics of the mobs for the maps then just try and burn it.

No one is complaining about dying. What we're saying is that:I wish SE would just give you alexandrites for logging into the game. Anything else is too hard.

1) No where on the Mysterious Maps description OR the quest does it warn you that they're any different than the treasure hunting ones (regarding OHKO mechanics), or that you might need help as the Peisteskin do ("Level 50 full-party recommended").
2) If you die, you lose the map and the alexandrite for good. When I go to Coil, if I die or if the timer runs out, I can still keep trying. It doesn't tells me "Oh, bad luck, you died. Come back tomorrow!".
If these two things were solved, I'm sure that we would be having fun even if the maps were harder than they are now. I would, at least.
Note that I've not had this happen to me, but I can feel the pain of those that lost their maps because of this.

"ATTENTION! You may actually die during this encounter! Do you wish to proceed?
YES! -- No, wtf SE, I'm not paying to die in a video game"
Are you being serious?

People who think losing a map worth 800 Mythology due to a death are either deluded or trolling. You've got to wonder how far their insanity extends. I mean would they be happy if you also lost your animus weapon and had to restart the entire quest line? Some will say yes I'm sure.

You lose the map if you run out of time, or leave the zone.
Get raised in same zone before time runs out and you have a chance of finishing it.
2) If you didn't risk losing the map by failing to complete it in time, there'd be no point in having the map to begin with. They could just give you the Alexandrite as the quest reward or from paying 800 myth.

Psst, Psssssst, here's a hint to those who don't have a friends list;
