Never The Twain Shall Meet - Limsa Lominsa

Before I state the supposed error, I just wanted to say that I am not 100% sure about this being intended or not, but it has to do with the Admiral of Limsa Lominsa.

There are a couple of these "supposed" errors I spotted in the dialogue spoken by the NPCs in the cutscenes. It goes like this:

Reyner says: "B-But sir! The Admiral himself said that we owe her a great debt of gratitude for-"

(In a cutscene during the Main Story Quest - Never the Twain Shall Meet, after the big battle scene between the Sahagin and the Knights of the Barracuda)

I may have forgotten extra dialogue presented elsewhere in the story to explain a "past Admiral" being a male, but according to our "current Admiral" on the Grand Companies Page, she is a female. Chief Admiral: Merlwyb Bloefswyn.

Like I mentioned previously, I may have forgotten or misread something in the text of the story quests in which the previous Admiral, when the game first came out, was male or indeed our current female leader, Merlwyb Bloefswyn.

Not too far later in the dialogue, when Sthalmann and Y'shtola meet together alone, they bring up the Admiral again for one brief moment:

Y'shtola: "However, you remain blind to the fell power it embodies. You must entrust it to me, before any more lives are lost."

Sthalmann: "Which is the reason why I will not. The power warded within the relic can save the lives of all who call this realm their home. The Admiral has been sent to the abyss, and now the beasts that led him there shall follow. It is simple."

Was the Admiral murdered at some point and then replaced by a female lead after these events? Or am I just reading too much into the story and submitting a false game error?

Even Y'shtola is confused at this point by replying:

Y'shtola: "The abyss...? Are you implying the Admiral was murdered...?"

And then Sthalmann completely avoids the question by playing it coy.

Those characters do refer to the Admiral as a "he." However, I can assure you this is not a bug. I don't want to post any spoilers for those who have yet to play the main scenario missions and may happen to stumble on this thread, but let's just say the discrepancies between Admiral "he" and Admiral "she" have something to do with a certain ability your player has that rhymes with...er..."gecko." The phenomenon is further explained in the following main scenario quests, starting with "Fade to White."
