    Dungeons and speedruns in general

    We all know that, no matter how many dungeons they release, player's choice will always go to the fastest one.

    However, since they are "dungeons", they are usually filled with alot of trash mobs, which lead, again, to the player's choice of going the fastest way => big pulls with aoe.

    Problem with that kind of strat, is that alot of jobs are left out (such as smn, drg and mnk).

    Now dont get me wrong, i know these jobs can perform perfectly fine in such speedruns (infact, my best brayflox time, which is 4:50, was done with two SMN) but it leads to a pretty major problem..

    Peoples dont want to take risk, and thus, will always go with the most obvious solution (which, in this case, is BRD and BLM). Because of that, the other jobs are "forced" to level these jobs to grind for something that will go to another job, which is insanely frustrating in the long term.

    Now, let's check the root of them problem.

    SE seems to take the dungeon path for the relic quest line, which is perfectly fine in my opinion. They release 2-3 dungeons per major patch. Everytime, one of the dungeon clearly have a speedrun-friendly design, making the other two completly worthless.

    Now, what could be the solution to solve all of these problems at once?

    My personal opinion would be to make dungeons speedrun-friendly for every jobs/type of players. As in, one dungeon that works just like what we have right now (bosses with trash inbetween) for the current group setups (aoe-oriented), one dungeon with more bosses and less trash (making single target dps more worthfull), and a last one for "new players", with heavy speedrun restrictions (doors everywhere and whatnot) for those who simply wants to "play normally" (any group setup), but which would overall take the same time to complete if the teams are equally skilled.

    ye just make every class exactly the same

    edit: but well...no ty, there will always be some classes left out, but i think thats not the point here.

    its the players decision who lead to this kind of problem and ye, if u have to grind 50k+ myth, then u will have to take the shortest or fastest way

    SE shouldnt smooth the faults of others out...

    That would just unbalance the jobs in general. They are designed to have more single-target dps then other jobs, and that's just fine. Also, it wouldnt fix all of the problems.

    All 3 are fine. You can run BR full in 10-12 minutes with DRG+MNK, like you can with other Jobs. Or doing Mythrun in around 6 Minutes. Depends if the person know how to do it, or not. I usually go as DRG and i don't really see a problem there.

    The idea is good, however, I think having it realized will be close to a miracle. Creating content is expensive. SE is a company that needs to make money. And they are one of these companies that wants to make even more, so they go the route of least effort (e.g. making content as cheap as most players will accept it).

    However, there is something that can be done with (IMHO) relatively little effort. The DPS classes inflict different debuffs - SMN ("the king of dots") does Poison and a few others, BLM can sleep enemies etc. If the instance server would just swap enemies on-the-fly to fit the individual strengths and weaknesses of the groups' members, the problem could be mitigated.

    This is fine if you're going with friends. But try to join a party finder group as a DRG. They only ever want BRD and BLM.
