So... it took over a month to create one repeatable quest that isn't even a unique quest and to add maps to the myth vendor's inventory...? You can't be serious.

I bet that the only way to obtain Alexandrite before the delay would have been farming fates.

The LIVE letter gave me the impression that, originally, the only way to get Alexandrite would have been mythology.

If they had let it run like that, the forum would probably collapse into itself like a neutron star.

This. Also keep in mind it would have been about 3 weeks instead of a month but they had technical issues at their office that delayed the entire patch by a week. It may not even have taken them the whole time to develop the new method but considering they likely came to the decision right before the last patch that meant by default that Novus couldn't land until 2.28. Otherwise they would have had to make it i's own special patch.
