BLM Stardust Rod Novus's Stats choices

Dear fellow BLMs , was just wondering what secondary stats are you all aiming for in upgrading the Animus Rod.

For myself, I was initially thinking 44 Crit + 31 Spell Speed. However, would it benefit our dps output more if going Crit + Det?

So what do you all think? Maybe someone would be going for an all rounder weapon that have all 5 stats averaging out? crit + det + spell speed + ? + ?. Forgot what other choices were in the scroll lol, was always only looking at those 3 stats.

Another interesting concept, if it is allowed would be several points of piety for those whose racial stats leave them under 251 with a scholar in the party. Of course if piety is even allowed. I only mention it because it is a possible stat in the paladin novus items.

Yea, I also thought of PIE when I just finish posting. But can't really remember whether PIE was one of the stat choice or not for Rod's scroll (can't check since maintenance atm). If PIE is available for stat upgrade, wonder whether it would be beneficial or not. At least won't have to rely on having SCH in parties lol.

Can't see sacrificing 31 of a secondary stat to piety, that's more than you'd get from food and you can just hit 251 piety with food.

ATM I plan to renew SS and exchange DET with Crit. What I wonder is, I would like to add some points to SS. In order to do so, I start from scratch with zero because what I have read so far is that you can't just enhance a second stat but have to start all over in order to raise it. So I am thinking it is maybe better to collect Alexandrite and Materia for a week or two before I start with Novus upgrade. Otherwise, the 1st upgrade will be a huge downgrade. DET lost, a tad of Crit added and a lot of SS lost. Doesn't sound that appealing so I think I rather wait a bit and then make a few upgrades at once.

You are not melding your weapon. You are melding the scroll. The animus reflects no changes until you upgrade it to novus.

It apparently doesn't work like this, and you can have 75 stat points distributed how you want.

Novus keeps the base stats of Animus does it not?

from the way I read it we can infuse all 5 off stats if we wanted so does this mean that we could do crit, ss, and piety? if so how much more piety would we need over 251 for it to be worth it? Crit>ss>det if we can only have 2.

You have to infuse exactly 75 stat point. You can't infuse more nor any less. All stats have a cap (crit caps at 44). You can infuse 5 different materias to it including parry and skill speed.

I'll go 44 crit and 31 ss.
