New type of boting/hacking?

so today we ran into two bots in amdapor keep. two black mages with similar names hacking under the surface of the ground and clearing all the trash. they could even skip boss encounters and go on clearing trash.

ive only screenscaped their names since we couldnt follow them after the first boss.

anybody else seen this stuff? has this been going on for a long time?

long long time, people were clearing twintania with it solo

basically a memory editor and they've found the memory addresses that let them change their vertical height to a point where mobs can't attack

other games call it flyhacking, cookie cutter hackers or 3rd party program users can be stopped a lot by switching memory addresses around every time there's a patch, but ff14 doesn't seem to do that

well im not exactly new to mmos and ive put quite some time into this game and this is the first time ive seen this crap. guess square doesnt even care to fix it too. thanks for the heads up.

not really something that can be fixed, they could clog the game up with GameGuard Hackshield PunkBuster etc. but they slow the game down, cause more lag, extra boot up times, crashes, they even spaz out if you try open some programs like Microsoft Excel sometimes, plus most parsers would be detected and a lot of people would get upset

i'd rather let a few people i've never played with use their hacks and get on with my own game, they'll get bored in a few weeks and go hack another mmo then another, cos thats how they get their fun

Most of these programs also provoque BSOD with a lot of antiviruses too. And I don't want to de-activate my antivirus everytime I play
