    That would be because there are restrictions to how many posts you can make and threads you can create based on your character's level in the game, as mentioned here: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...17#post1015217

    Once you've reached the amount of posts for that day, you can only post in this section or the technical help sections until the count resets each day.

    Don't feel bad, just got hit by this too. Trying to decide if the 20 posts a day limit or the 1k character limit(before editing) is the most idiotic at the moment...

    Until now there have been mainly two means of progression: the first being defeating powerful enemies in end-game content to obtain high-item-level equipment, and the second being collecting Allagan tomestones to purchase gear. The Zodiac Weapons do not have the restrictions of these two methods, but are designed to take a long time to complete.
    Current Tome Requirements for Zodiac Weapons:
    225+900+13500+1500= 16125
    Additionally: Post limits are, flat-out, completely idiotic. 1k char limit's stupid to begin with but 20 posts a day? Seriously? What the hell SE?

    yeah both are pretty crazy especially as the quoted text counts toward the 1000 character limit o_O

    The restrictions were put in place because the community repeatedly crashed the forums in Beta. You can get around the 1000 character limit by editing your post to add text.
