yesterday I ran out of ventures and decided to do some fates in high lvl areas with equiped zenith weapon

after 2 fates I got the atma in the sahagin area, 3 fates later in the cobold mine and after another 2 fates I got the east shroud atma, all 3 in 20-30 minutes

It's not near as bad as people make it out to be. For every atma that took me hrs, I got the next within a few minutes.

On the contrary; it's quite as bad as people make it out to be. I've been trying to get the Atma of the Bull from Eastern Thanalan for over a week now. I'm able to put in 3 hours at a time to try and get it. This is three consecutive hours each day. So we multiply that by 7 (actually 8 because it's Sunday again), and we have 24 hours worth of attempting to gather 1 component of a piece of gear. This is going to go on further because I still don't have the Atma of the Bull.

So while you are quite lucky to have gotten yours after a couple hours; I seem to be the antithesis of this.

Honestly it's quite ridiculous I should have to put in more time than a couple hours a day to get one component; especially seeing as I have multiple zenith weapons for which I could be getting these.

I have a friend that started the Atma grind before me, perhaps 3 days before me and had NOTHING. I start, and get my first 5 within 2 hours. #6 took 3 days in Western Thanalan. # was 2 WEEKS in Outer La Noscea. I stopped for almost a month, burned out and unmotivated to play at all. During this time, I believe my friend had finally gotten some drops and ultimately finished before me. So painstakingly I went back to it. 2 days for #8, then #9-11 all on a Saturday. #12 I spent a Sunday getting. While relieved, when I discovered that I really only had a recolored Zenith weapon,my motivation went right out the window once again. It would be another month and a half before I just tossed my first Atma book and stopped caring.

There are people who started roughly around the same time as me, put in more time than me, and still have NOTHING. That is not okay.

SE took the weapon I was so excited to earn and completely devalued it. I don't even want to look at it now I keep it glamoured, and as soon as I can replace it, I might just trash it. . . An Atma weapon is not worth the effort wasted for it. Animus itself isn't much more of an incentive, and Novus -personally - means less than the Atma weapon to me now.

Here's hoping newer content maybe brings "in-between" type weapons (i.e. i105 or so). I'll take that or a Coil/Primal weapon in a heartbeat.
