    Hello, everyone.

The following is a comment from UI lead Hiroshi Minagawa in regards to the current known issue with the hotbar and cross hotbar display.

    • Issue
When having macros registered to the hotbar that are not associated with your class and certain operations are performed, there are cases where the display of your current class hotbar will be modified.

We’ve confirmed the following operations will cause this issue:
      1. Creating or deleting gear sets
      2. Changing or updating gear sets

By performing the above, trouble arises with the hotbar display. The hotbar saved data is not corrupted, however, and only the display is being changed.

Besides these cases, there have also been reports of this occurring while in certain content, but we have not yet been able to identify the issue. The development team is continuing to investigate based on all the information we have been receiving.

    • Method to deal with this issue
It’s possible to eliminate the hotbar icon display issue by performing the following:
      1. From the Character Configuration, under “Hotbar Settings” turn the shared feature from on to off or from off to on, and then press apply and the display should be restored. After this, toggle the setting once more and you’ll be able to use your original settings.
      2. Change your main weapon or gear set, and change your class.
      3. Log out and then log back in.

For the cases where this issue occurs within content, as it is not possible to change classes another method is necessary to deal with this; however, as the development team has yet to confirm the cause of this we will make an announcement once we confirm the situation and look into how to address it.

    • Plans to fix the issue
We’ve received word that the cause of this issue is the expanded support for the “/micon” macro, and we’re currently investigating what will be affected by fixing the bug. There is a high possibility that a client-side patch will be necessary, and once we confirm the release date for this we’ll make an announcement.

I just wanted to give you the latest report from the development-side on this situation.
I apologize for any inconveniences this has caused.

I had this issue happen while fixing my gear sets in Limsa.

I tried the method to fix it as listed, but it did not work.

I still have 'Brutal Swing' (which does nothing when selected) and Tomahawk (which places a '1' Sign when selected) on my BRD hotbar.

On my MNK hotbar I have my PLD buff macro which does nothing, and two of the default 'Attack' macros which act as they should (but shouldn't be on there).

The majority of my hotbars are screwed up like this, and it would take quite a while to fix them all. Will whatever fix that is put out restore my hotbars to how they should be? Because I really don't have the patience to fix them all.

From what I understand, all the HUD elements, setups, and skill arrangements, are stored client side. So I'm gonna say you are out of luck and will have to rearrange them yourself. It sucks and I feel your pain.
