Game Crashing Inside The Navel / Unable to Log In

I attempted to enter the The Navel for the first time about 10 minutes ago now when the game suddenly crashed, with the screen whiting out and displaying the message "FFXIV has stopped working blah blah".

I have attempted to log back in 3 more times now and each time the game of crashing and closing immediately upon connection since I am supposedly still within The Navel.

Can I get some advice on how to fix this issue as this I have only re-subbed as of yesterday and now I can't even play the game full stop.

For reference my laptop is more than fully equipped to run the game and this is the first in game crash I've experienced since I started playing.
