After picking a data center, the game gets stuck in the loading screen

So I thought hey, lets play some final fantasy. I paid my subscription fee's, but now the game won't even start.

Reading from the patch notes this was 'fixed'. But yet I'm still unable to load the game after picking a data center.

Help appreciated.

I'm having the same problem :/ hopefully this gets fixed soon, I just re subscribed and would really like to play.

I found a solution that worked for me on Windows 8.1

"Open the config file FFXIV.cfg under documents/my games/FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn with notepad and change the value of CutsceneMovieOpening to 1, rather than 0. Save, restart the game and you should be good"

It might be hard to find that file, the easy way to find it is to just copy "FFXIV.cfg" and do a windows search for it. From there take all the same steps.

i'm having the same problem, i tried cosmic's workaround, but it didnt work for me. i just had to reonstall after rplacing a failing HDD, not sure if that had anything to do with it
