Which again, just brings me back to "These should have been Cutscenes". Then they can show me it exactly as they envisioned, maybe even make it better than it would look in game. Although in my opinion that completely goes against the heart of sightseeing, it should be about your interpretation of the vista, which would be enhanced by seeing it with whatever time/weather you arrive there with.

It isn't even a "take it easy" kind of content. It's a "Find the right location, then do something else while waiting for X and Y". It's called Sightseeing. I have seen the sights.

No, it's not something you're meant to check off as quickly as possible, that's why they didn't simply say "Go here", "Go there". They made you think about where the location is, they made you find it. Once you find it, the pointless waiting begins though. Seeing as I now actively have to wait and do something different, it actually is something I want to check off as soon as possible. There is fun in figuring out the location. There is no fun in waiting for the seasons to change.

The don't wait. Go there when the setting is right. Some of us relish the moment when everything aligns up properly. Videogames don't have to be just about fun, they can also be emotionally enriching in other ways too. I think surrounding yourself with the mechanics of Eorzeas nature can be part of that enrichment if you let yourself relax and soak it in.

If the patience required such a burden, you really don't need to focus on (or even attempt) it at all.
It just seems to be making a big deal out of nothing.

Sometimes sightseeing at certain times of the day with different types of weather the scene looks totally different and better. Just saying. But i'm sure you're not sightseeing, you just want your rewards and be done with it. lol

or rain between 00:00 and 04:00 is totally different from rains between 20:00 and 24:00

Just giving a different perspective. Like Gramul said, it's a side thing they added for people that enjoy this stuff. If you don't like it, you don't have to do it at all. You guys are really making a big deal out of nothing.

I like exploring the world, i like having informations about the places i see and have a cool brownish picture of the place, but i hate having to wait for the stars to be in the good pattern to complete the sightseeing. I don't care about the pet or wathever, i just want to explore, resolve the riddles and have some infos about the lore in a photobook.

Imagine beating T9 but nope, it's not a full moon in a clear sky, so you get no loot and don't even ask for the ending scene.

How do i solve the riddles if i need to complete the first 20 to unlock the next ? how do i read the info if i need to wait for the good weather to have it ? Same for the picture.

And no, i'm not being silly, it's the exact same thing, you get to a place, do what you have to do, but nope, you have to wait for the game to be in a good mood and let you complete it.

I have to agree that this wasn't implemented in the best way.

Sometimes, it can be nice that there's a weather thing to see or a time of day, but some of them are a little strange. Wait inside a building for it to be cloudy outside, so I can see something inside? How that even works I don't know.

I was looking forward to this, but I'll only do it as and when I happen across them. I'll look for them, note where they are then just check if I can do it yet and maybe go and do it.

I think this is how they planed for it to be approached.
Maybe if it logged reminders and/or alerted you when the setting was right people might be less upset.

This is not how the cutscenes work. The cutscenes show you the actual weather and daylight of the area. You would still need to wait for the right weather and daylight to trigger the cutscene.

yeah, this is really stupid. i've been doing chores around the house and have had my character standing in the vista spot for 6 hours now waiting for the correct weather.

and the location is inside of a stupid building with no nice view whatsoever

this did not take me to a nice location at all. and standing in this spot for so long, i've seen this "view" long enough already, and i have yet to complete it due to the correct weather not arriving yet
