Changed my mind. Going for det/pie, although I noticethe lack of spell speed when i change gear, it doesn't make that much of a difference. Max MP affects MP regeneration as well, right? I would love more of that.

I counted* that with capped PIE (33) I'd get 264 more MP (2 short from one Cure 2) from Novus and it would add my refresh during fights for about 5MP per tick (evey 3 seconds; refresh during fight is 2% of total MP per tick so 264 MP adds 5,28 MP per tick). Not worth it for me, going with Crit+Det.
* Based on what I read about 1 PIE adding 8 MP.

As a WHM I'm going for PIE/DET.
i know the weathered 110 weapon has those stats but I'm never getting that thing.
Currently 17/75 infusions. Gonna be a long road to 75.
Morzone Vandalfo on Siren
Main job: SCH/MNK
Raid job: Gathering
PS5 based. PSN ID: natek_morzy
Now that I found out that you can actually meld even 3 stats on your novus, I'm kinda confused XD
Initially I was aiming for 44 SS and 31 DET, but I'm not sure about it anymore due to the tremendous materia costs it implies.
I am now aiming towards 30 SS, 25 DET, 20 PIE (or 30 SS, 20 DET, 25 PIE) but I heard so many theories that I don't know what to infuse anymore @.@
So questions are: Is it important to cap DET in your opinion?
In the light of the above: Is my second idea that stupid? ^^'
Thank you. It is not much after all, but it's better than nothing I guess. I'd rather avoid Crit so between SS and PIE... I guess I'll go with PIE anyway. I keep loosing it the more I upgrade my gear.I counted* that with capped PIE (33) I'd get 264 more MP (2 short from one Cure 2) from Novus and it would add my refresh during fights for about 5MP per tick (evey 3 seconds; refresh during fight is 2% of total MP per tick so 264 MP adds 5,28 MP per tick). After some thoughts I think I'll do my Thyrus with 30 Det, 25 PIE, 20 Sps or 25-25-25. I do throw in attacks but I rarely miss so I don't feel the need of more Acc.
More PIE than the High Allagan, more Det than the Yugrush plus I can have some Spellspeed, which I've learn to love on big numbers, giving me more freedom for my BiS.

what could be a good spreadout for scholar to avoid crit IV materia? (300k per materia... sorry but I can't make more than 2 or 3 like that...)
Larek Darkholme @ Ragnarok
33 Crit, 21 Det, 21 Piety. I can see that working very well and not many people doing it, so you'll feel pretty unique.
A lot of interesting plans here. I'm actually going to pull PIE/DET/SS-- I know a load of people are considering crit, but I'm basing my choice for the Thyrus on the gear I have available to me and how effective my cures have been with just the animus. And as it stands I'm actually critting more than my SCH crits on Adloquium (407 crit on whm vs 518 on SCH. I don't know if it's the RNG preferring my WHM or what but christ every other cure. Literally--).
I'm only 9/75 right now so I have a while before I have to come to a concrete decision...would've been easier if they just put DET at the 44 cap but whatever I can understand why not since it's more a tertiary stat with piety and will always be lower than the token secondaries.
44 crit, 31 piety.
Gets to expensive 25 piety, 20 determination and 30 crit.
Hoping SE sees that materia is stupid expensive and come with quest to reward materia like they did before crystal tower came out.
