I'm still unsure on my novus. I know I want to cap Determination no matter what, but I've been getting more spell speed pieces recently, and I'm stating to see the advantage of it. Such as, being able to put up a stoneskin after stomps but before weight of the land in titan extreme. Or being able to put stoneskin up right before blighted bouquet is finished casting and not die.
I am curious though to see if all that determination on the novus would be enough to even out the differences between mind/weapon damage with the high allagan weapon, except I have no way to test this out since I'm nowhere near getting the high allagan weapon.
If I cap piety as well it would be a much better Yagarush but if I went with spell speed I'd basically have a weaker high allagan staff. Unless I mix and match the stats to get a bit of both.
So many choices! Good thing I still have a while before I need to decide since I'm only at 31/75.
For my SCH I decided to go the cheap way
Crit till max grade III materia
Det till max grade III materia
rest in piety
so I avoid the crit IV costing 00K on my server
the stats are good enough till I get Allagan
Was looking for the price of Materia and.. wow, crit Materia go for 400k each on my server. Suddenly, I'm not sure I'm into this novus stuff anymore. Probably will do like
because spending 3.2+ millions on Novus is absolutely insane.

Honestly, if you're going to max out rank III's on crit and Det, you may as well also do the rank IV's as long as they're at 100% Infuse chance. Considering the risks you'd just finished taking with blowing up rank III's at 50-60%, 100% rank IV should still be worth it
I'm currently in the last few stages for my Novus for SCH (2 CRIT, 5 DET remaining), and I was wondering - with the ridiculous price of DET IV materia is the remaining +5 even worth it? I was planning to SB the last 2 CRIT, but DET would probably take considerably longer, especially with the 50% rate for the last one. Would it be "better" to just slot in +5 or +7 PIE instead? i.e. Will the remaining points in CRIT/DET even be noticeable to justify the grind/gil?
I don't think 5 points on any stats justify spending millions of gil on it.
This does kind of depend on the server you're on, I'm glad I finished my Novus already, because as it stands the grade IV crit materia go for roughly twenty times the cost of a single grade III crit materia. Which makes it pretty likely that putting in even one grade IV is more expensive than what you'd previously spent on grade III's.Honestly, if you're going to max out rank III's on crit and Det, you may as well also do the rank IV's as long as they're at 100% Infuse chance. Kinda torn here.
Def gonna cap det.
Prolly gonna avoid acc and ss.
Not sure about crit and pie.
crits won't be needed for proper healing output, but it can save you a bit of mana, potentially save a run if errors are made, and it will improve your dps.
Provided you cap det, how much would it increase ur crit chance if you put the remaining points in crit?
Rank III Materia: 19kHonestly, if you're going to max out rank III's on crit and Det, you may as well also do the rank IV's as long as they're at 100% Infuse chance. Considering the risks you'd just finished taking with blowing up rank III's at 50-60%, 100% rank IV should still be worth it
Rank IV Materia: 300K
Yeah, same stuff =_=
