How are you handling your Novus upgrade?

honestly I think this was the final nail in the coffin for me guys.. good luck.. as a pld I already have the exact stats on my animus as is... the quest is to progress to make them more powerful.. the fact that I have to farm 800 fucking myth or get a 1% drop to apply a piece of material for a stat I already have IS FUCKING DUMB. honestly the whole dev team and Yoshida for that matter should be looking for work at mcdonalds

If we can only have two seconday stats i'll go det/pie for my thyrus but if it's more i'll go det/pie/crit or det/pie/spell speed. Not sure which yet or if it's even possible.

Yup... This is definitely not for us who play the game limited time.
But, here is the thing... Zodiac weapon will be always "2nd" powerful weapon. You don't really have to farm it like crazy.. Just spend 40 min or so upgrading your animus to novus slowly. In 4 or 6 month.. you will have your novus. In fact, current strongest weapon is turn 9 coil -- high allagan, and the best weapon comes from raids and not the quest. Also remember atma farming, people said it's impossible.. But they got it. How about animus.. 13k myth?? But.. People geared with animus. Despite all the hate, at the end of the day... People just want to show off with new gear and they want to get it asap.. Just, don't try to get it asap when in few months many people would have it this is mental challenge.

Is there confirmed info on which stats are possible to meld on Omnilex and Thyrus and what are their caps?

Skill speed : 44
Critical hit : 44
Piety : 33
Determination : 31
Spell speed : 44
Parry : 44

From what I've read, it's only possible to meld 2 stats, not more or less. So does that mean you couldn't pick for example PIE (33) + DET (31), as that would make 64 points, not 75?

mm i'd say theres plenty of people that dont do secondcoil and wont do for a while, and they'll need pie on it to offset the daystars lack of it.
anyone getting high allagan stuff with pie on it shouldn't be too worried about trying something else like det/crit

PIE and DET just have lower caps because that's how it is on all gear with them. You can look at any two pieces of gear in the same iLevel tier and this is the case, PIE and DET just cap lower than the rest. You will need to do the same amount of melds but end up with those caps in the end.

Thyrus into ACC / Crit because

(1) I like being a unique snow flake!
(2) I'm a crit fanatic (even on WHM)
(3) I want to hit things!
(4) My FC trusts me enough to know even if I'm not using an optimized equipment build, I can overcome those deficiencies by adapting my skill set to it. They know I know how to optimize for WHM and would still throw that out the window anyway because I can make my style work with their game plan.
